“Family chalet for the win!”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

We were traveling with 4 girls and managed to secure a "family chalet", which was perfect! It had 2 rooms, 2 bathrooms, and a common area. There was a questionable comedian who welcomed us at the reception desk, and it took us a while to gauge his sense of humour. We were pleasantly surprised that our room was conveniently perched at the top of the building at the top of the hill, linked to a long balcony. The hotel itself is a good 15 minute walk to the centre of the medina (all downhill on the way there and all uphill on the way back), which is not so convenient, but the location also gives a stunning view of the entire blue city at sunrise and sunset. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the breakfast of assorted warm bread, homemade butter / jams, teas, coffees and dry cereals. I may have preferred to have an egg/omelette of sorts as that's what I'm used to, but I didn't miss it that much. The pool was quite crowded when we went, but it offered a soothing break from the hot-hot temperatures. If you're a group or a small family, I would definitely recommend the family chalet room; it added tremendous comfort to our trip.

One of my favourite all time hotel stays. We stayed in room SW4 and the decor made it feel like we were being given a room in some ancient palace. The place was very clean and the service friendly and helpful. Three of us stayed in a double suite with the lounge area made up to a third bed which was ample room. The pool is small, but lovely, with views over the city one way and views of the cliff face the other. A tasty breakfast in the morning was included in the overnight price, which seemed a bargain compared to prices for western hotels. The only small negative is the rather pricey lunch and dinner menu, but then there is nothing stopping you making the ten minute walk into the old medina to where there are dozens of cheap restaurants in the main square, but try La Lampe Magique (book ahead) for stunning sunset views over the city from their fourth story terrace.

Room Tip: SW4 was perfect for three people. The hotel was very quiet and I expect all rooms are great.

The hotel has excellent location. Though outside the medina, but very close to it. It also has its advantage as you can approach the hotel by car. Rooms are small, but comfortable. Nice swimming pool with panoramic view of the town and montains.

Room Tip: Sure, the rooms with the mediana view are better.

This modern hotel is decorated in a traditional rustic theme. The bedroom was large and comfortable and as we were travelling with our daughter they upgraded us to a suite for free.
The pool was lovely with plenty of sunbeds around and towels provided.
Breakfast was traditional Moroccan food, with plenty of it and the restaurant was open most of the day even during Ramadan when it was difficult to get food elsewhere. All staff were friendly and helpful.
We travelled around Morocco and stayed at a number of places and this was the best by far.

Even if we spent quite a long time in finding the hotel it was worth it. We were in the suite Omssan with great views, everything clean, bed was super comfortable, big enough with living room. We were only one night but it was the best of Chefchouen, breakfast was fantastic as well and they had wifi in the common places however we got it in our room as well. Highly recommendable!

We had the perfect stay here. The staff were pleasant, friendly and gave us advice for our further travels in Morocco. The room was lovely and they provided a beautiful wooden cot for our 2 year old daughter. The decor of the hotel is Moroccan and they have done it beautifully. The rooms had air-con as did the communal areas. The eating area was big, though at times full (arrive early for breakfast), you can also eat outside. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Self serve coffee, tea, hot water, milk. They bring breads, spreads, juice, olives & cheese. The location is perfect, just outside the medina and a quick walk in. You can also quickly walk up to the Spanish Mosque for good views of the town. The pool was the highlight for us. A good size for relaxing (not doing laps) it has a deep end and a shallow kids area with stone islands dividing the two parts. There are sun loungers, chairs, tables and a covered shaded area.
The whole place is peaceful, relaxing and was an amazing start to our trip. It was the best place we stayed in during our 2.5 weeks. I highly recommend this place!

We stayed here 2 nights as part of our tour and loved it. We were in one of the chalets that had two bedrooms, which we shared with another couple. We had a little lounge room with tv, fridge, etc. The other couple on our tour stayed in the other part of the hotel which was just a room, but it was lovely as well. The pool was great and there is a massage therapist that comes to the hotel most afternoons which I took advantage of...I think it was about 200 dirhams for an hour. We also went up to the deck area which are above the chalets to watch the sunset as we had a few drinks and nibblies before dinner. The town itself had a really nice feel to it and you can go for a hike up the mountain if you're feeling energetic. The chalet bedrooms themselves are fairly small, but that's why you have the lounge area. The only negative was probably the bathroom size...very small and sometimes slightly smelly. Would highly recommend!

Room Tip: If you're more than just one couple go for the chalet...lots of space and you're own private...
