Spent a night at Hotel Madrid Chefchaouen, March 2015. We had a top floor room at the back, nice views to the hills and less noisy. The room was freshly painted and nicely decorated, although not large. Th e double bed could only be accessed from one side. Bathroom had new toilet and shower. Shower was very small, the shower curtain sticking to your body as you wash. The toilet did not seem to be fixed and would start to tip over if you sat incorrectly and the seat was off to one side. If the cover plug was left off the shower drain, a bad smell would emanate through the room. We experienced a similar thing in Instanbul and comes from old drainage systems. The breakfast was adequate and everything was clean, although there was no heating in the dining area and it was very cold for us. Staff very accommodating and helpful. As the room was booked through our tour company, I cannot say if there was value for money, but it has been the poorest riad/hotel so far on our trip. Saying that I have stayed in a lot worse over the years. A great location very close to the old medina and parking across the road.
Really hard to rate this one, as they seemed to be trying hard and were on the improve. I would only consider staying again if very well priced.

We had four poster beds in our room with net curtains over them and the beds were a rather shocking pink but otherwise it was a nice wee place to stay in. The room was clean but rather cramped. The service was good and there was no trouble at all about getting an oil radiator for the night as it is fairly cold here in the winter. The breakfast was quiet a good choice and also very delicious. The only real 'bad' point for the hostel was the WiFi which was barely working - but as there's so much to do around the hotel it didn't really matter.

We left as soon as we saw the rooms. Very small rooms with old furniture. It was uncomfortable. The only advantage is the location which is very close to the medina. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for a family.

This a very nice, small hotel right outside the Chefchaouen medina. We were on the second floor and overlooked the street and one of the entrances to the medina. The room was comforatble, about what you would expect for the price and location. Nothing fancy, but then again, who wants to stay in their room when you have a beautiful city in front of you.
Breakfast was served beginning aroun 7 am. It is your typical European/Moroccan fare of olives, bread, fresh squeezed orange juice (outstanding), cheeses, tomatoes and jams. Tea and coffee was also served.
The hotel is just outside one of the medina gates which allows you to strool the plaza and sidestreets at your own pace. The vendors are not as pushy as with other cities in Morocco.
Get up early in the morning and stroll the medina and allow yourself to get lost. It's fun. To re-orient yourself, simply go downhill until you're out of the medina or you stumble back into the plaza.

Room Tip: It would be hard to find a totaly quiet room, with the road traffic until 1 or 2 am, people coming ang going plus the roosters at 5 am. Put in the ear buds and enjoy the experience.

I just loved this place. Great staff and service in a hotel that oozes character. The breakfast buffet was superb - the best I've come across in Morocco. In fact it would be difficult to beat anywhere!

Rooms and en suites clean and fully working with plenty of hot water.

Decor, traditional Moroccan in the public areas, Barbie dolls caravan in the bedrooms. Lots of pink, lace and more pink!

Great location too. Highly recommend.
