“Fair enough”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

This well-known eatery left us wanting. Nothing bad about it, but nothing special either. Food was average for a country where some simple meals often draw sighs of delight. Welcome by the manager was kind and professionnal, but service perfunctional. At least the personel did not wear the “One Thousand and One Nights” costume that those at Aladdin’s Lamp restaurant—another “meh” in Chefchaouen—have to sport. Our best food in town turns to have been in the cafés of the main square.

“A steal and must-try”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

We ate here both nights we were in Chefchaouen. You can not beat the value and quality of food, as well as cozy and authentic Moroccan atmosphere. The restaurant has a 3 course set menu, where you have a few options to choose from in each category, and was dirt cheap at a whopping $10 US for the 3 courses. The restaurant is nestled within the medina for a true Moroccan experience, and we enjoyed our table by the fireplace with a view of the lovely restaurant architecture and decor. The only flaw of the restaurant---they don't serve booze!, which was mainstream in Chefchaouen, as we came to find. A must try if you are in town.

“Traditional delight!”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

Lovely interior, great fireplaces and decor! The food was very good, with ample selections of starters, main courses and desserts. No wine, but delightful nonetheless.

“Restaurant review”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

Slightly overrrated in my opinion, however a nice restaurant to go to.

Location: Right off the main square in Chefchaouen. Easy to find and very cosy inside.

Food: Okay priced. We had the harissa soup, kebab and vegetable tajine. The soup was okay. The Kebab on the other hand was the best we tried in Morocco. The tajine was standard. Dessert was pretty good. We had the lemon cheesecake and home made yogurt.

“I got sick”
Reviewed January 22, 2013

I had dinner in this restaurant, the most expensive one we experienced in Morocco (100 dh per person is A LOT there!) : it's a pretentious place, the staff are not friendly at all and, most of all, I felt sick after eating there. It might have been the chicken tajine (the meat was hard...) or the yogurt (a bit too liquid, perhaps), the only thing I know is I vomited and had diarrhoea throughout the whole night and I had to spend 2 days in bed and to take an antibiotic to recover.
I wouldn't reccomend going there to anyone.
