“Lovely seaside village of Asilah”
Reviewed April 28, 2007

We visited Asilah during the off-season (March) and took in the ambience of whitewashed buildings with blue tints minus the crowds. This little seaside village of about 2,000 inhabitants is quite nice. Apparently it attracts a lot of artists during the summer season. It has a nicer beach than we photographed. Charming place. Poor, unemployed young men are eager to become your guide and best friend. Beware of fathers and other relatives that try to capitalize on the new friendship. Easy access by train from Tangier (45 minutes).

“Nice coastal city”
Reviewed October 10, 2005

People in Asilah are very friendly as with most Moroccans that I met. The medina is a pretty laid back place as opposed to Fez. If you are going to do some shopping do it in Asilah. The white washed buidings with bright colours of blue and yellow are very picturesque. I would recommend staying a night or two here before moving on to your next destination.
