Laguna Redang Island Resort

overall we are very happy with our stay. we choose deluxe package with room view pool. with the package, we are entitled to 3 times free snorkeling and meals covered 3 times per day. And we really enjoy our stay, the staff are friendly and helpful and the food range is ok and some taste good. i love their fruits selection. in term of cleanliness, i think laguna can improvise by scrubbing their bathroom walls.

if we are ever going back to Redang, i would definitely choose laguna again , this time with room viewing beach with hoping they change their live band. seriously if there is one thing i hate about laguna is their live band . they are worst performer. laguna management. please take note on this.

Stayed from 20th April to 22 April on the 3day 2night deluxe package. Hotel did not provide Ground Floor room even though i has specified this during reservation. We were also not informed earlier that on the last day, the ferry departs from Redang to Shahbandar Jetty at 7am for flights departing from Kuala Terengganu at 12.55pm.. that's ridiculuous!! So basically on the last day, we had to check out at 6am. The hotel should state this on their website, so that guests can make informed decision before making any reservation.

Upon arrival, there is a briefing carried out... the staff could hardly speak English, and when she spoke in English, it was barely understandable. The whole resort seems to be made to cater to mainland Chinese visitors.

My room (deluxe sea view) was not as large as i thought it would be, and not that well maintained. The bedding and pillow reeked of sweat. I had to request for new comforter and pillows during the night as i could not sleep with the smell, but the replacement pillows were no better. And yes, really noisy at night, with awful "karaoke-type" singing and sound system. It really assaults your ears, but the mainland Chinese love it apparently.

Food is ok, acceptable for the price... don't go with high expectations.

But hotel room and amenities aside, the sea and beach is lovely. Black tip reef sharks and trigger fish at the shallow waters in front of hotel during low tide. The hotel has the best location on that stretch of beach. The water is as clear as in the Maldives.

Overall, I would definitely visit Redang again, but would choose a different hotel.

Me and my friends take 3D2N package and it's one of our best holiday ever!
The gradation of the sea's color amazed us on our arrival, we can snorkeling at the beach and the fish will find us. Don't miss the visit to Marine park, it's amazing and stunning!
The staffs is friendly and helpful. Especially staffs at recreation center, they call their self with food name, I guess that's how they want it so we can easily remember what to call them.
Pao Yi (Fish), Donut (Jones), Tjong, & Tofu pokk is super kind, patient, sincere, and helpful. They assist us how to snorkeling, show us the sparkle blue sand, and takes good pictures at perfect timing on our visit to Marine park. Thank you guys, you makes our trip so meaningful and enjoyable. Hope all the best for you guys!

Be blown away by the stunning beach! Had a 3d2n trip, snorkelled along the resort's beach the first day we arrived as we can't make it in time for the open sea trip (set off around 3pm). Look out for reef sharks there, but dont worry they are too small to be dangerous.

Marine park trip (set off around 10am) and Open sea snorkelling trip the following day were great as well although they were rather short (just ard 1.5hrs/trip)

Do be reminded to get your Marine Park Pass when you arrive at the airport.

Stayed at the resort near the jetty without balcony, room size is comfortable for 3. Nice to chill at its pub at night except that the singer tend to sing the same songs each night....

Overall a very pleasant trip, love the beach!

I went to Redang Island during school holiday with my family. It was smooth arrangement by the hotel from Shahbandar jetty to Redang. The provided ferry was kind of old and small. Upon arriving at the Laguna, we were greeted by the staff and briefing was conducted that time. We had lunch afterward and relax at the hotel. Swimming pool was not quite big but really clean. Since it was school holiday, it was crowded with people. The next day, we went to snorkeling. The marine park, again crowded with people from various hotel. If you want to really enjoy the scenery and snorkeling, it is better to avoid peak session. I, hardly took the picture without people on it. Also if you to want to enjoy your meal and hotel scenery, again avoid peak session. You need to queue every meal time. Other than that, this hotel is still better choice in Redang Island.

This resort is famous because of the Hong Kong Film "Summer Holiday" based on the shop "More More Tea Shop", that is why you will it is flooded with Mainland and Hong Kong Chinese tourist. If this doesnt bother you then you will have a great time.

I did my home work and read about Laguna Redang Island Resort especially about the live band playing until midnight so I purposely booked the Pool side rooms which was great, cheaper than the sea view rooms but nice and quite at night which is great after doing 2 snorkling trips per day. If you choose the sea view rooms then you better be a late night sleeper as the band is quite loud, band stops at midnight.

Booked the 3 day 2 nights deluxe package and paid extra for bus pick up from KT Airport and boat transfer from the jetty so i didnt have to worry about getting to the island. 3 meals per day, buffet style, it can get hectic with the rush of people but you do have other choices if you are willing to pay. Food was ok, mainly catered towards Asians.

Booked two rooms, each room had 1 king size bed + 2 single beds, the single beds came useful for putting our clothes on it as we were only 2 people per room.

The large swimming pool is amazing with a kiddie section.

You get 2 snorkling trips per day, usually most of the resort will turn up for this, can get hectic as well but all you need to do is chill out, the boat staff is well organised and once you reach the snorkling site, its is amazing, you just need to endure 15-20 mins crammed in a boat, usually up to 50 per boat. The Marina park is the best, fish and corals everywhere just off the beach, water is crystal clear.

Even the beach by the resort if you bring bread and go into the water, loads of fish will come to eat, even saw 5 in total BLACK TIP SHARKS, but babies, 2 feet in length, nothing to worry about. the water in front of the resort isnt as clear.

you can also choose to do the Discover Scub Diving, its only 160 Ringit and they take you diving off the beach infront of the resort, I wanted to try but had to look after the others who wanted to go snorkling.

Will definitely visit again, reading tripadvisor, this is probably the best resort on Redand Island.

Just remember the resort is excellent, dont let the crowds of Mainlanders get you down, they are there to have a great time, you are there to have a great time, relax and enjoy.

Room Tip: Stay away from the sea view rooms unless you like to party late into the night.

We had a pleasant stay. Rooms are clean, food served are acceptable, receptionist and diving crew are friendly EXCEPT the resort never inform us about the "shah bandar jetty"!!

If you have decided to stay in this resort, make sure you called to confirm the Jetty.
