I spent a weekend in this resort. I booked the 3D/2N Diver's Package including meals. Frankly, I was skeptical about the pricing and the pictures, but I must say that I was very surprised to see the quality of the rooms and how clean the place was. Even the meals, although buffet, were pretty good. The dive center is quite good, and the staff very friendly.
The water heater did not work in the room, but that was not a big deal after all. There were a few nice touches in the room like rain shower head, and 2 nice big glass doors windows.

Redang is a paradise island, resort based with Chinese package holiday makers coming and going constantly, at a costly environmental impact. Most tourists come on snorkelling packages, so twice a day everyone on the island flocks to the beach in little armies of 20 or 30, wearing conspicuous life jackets, as though someone had issued a post nuclear crisis warning and alarmed citizens were heading to their evacuation boats. Then the island empties and becomes a true paradise of turquoise blue and tranquility. So I would personally avoid these packages at all costs. You can snorkel with turtles and all the trimmings at your own pace and time just off the beach. Coral I Resort is quiet though, away from the busiest areas and it has a relaxed atmosphere. The rates are high for what is on offer. Our room in particular was infested with mosquitos at night, and as we tried to hide under the bedding some bed bugs had us at their leisure. Hence we had little sleep and much scratching. The management should do something about this, rather than just relaying on being on such a beautiful location, as you would expect these standards in backpacker accommodation but not at these rates. The bathrooms aren't great either, rather run down. The food was average, breakfast wasn't great. There is a fantastic restaurant round the corner, on the next beach, serving excellent Chinese fusion food and fresh seafood at good prices.
The staff were sweet and smilie. There is a small but good dive centre on the premises with good rental kit and the same expensive rates as everyone else on the island. Everything is close by, only a short boat ride, so they'll take you diving even if it's just you. Worth a try.
I wish they didn't take this island for granted.

Our family had the best time here. It's not a top luxury hotel but the room was spacious, modern and clean, shower was good and plenty of hot water. Snorkeling package was great...all food and boat trips included. We didn't see any restaurants along the beach so it's worth going for the package. We had plenty of good food including salads, fish, chicken and beef and fresh fruit at lunch and dinner. The snorkeling around the headland outside the hotel was fantastic. The dive center was manned by friendly staff and the two snorkeling trips out each day at 9.30 and 2.30 were great. We saw turtles, sharks, barracuda, bump head parrot fish, moray eel, potato cod, garfish and lots more. It was as good as the diving i have done! Just playing around on the beach was fun too and is safe for small children as there is no coral to tread on here just lovely white sand. The hotel arranged a private boat back to Marang for us as we had a late flight back to Kuala lumpur at rm600 it's quite expensive but it gave us another day in paradise...

Good resort with a laid back feel. Places on the right I.e. laguna, are very noisy and at certain times of the day especially at night very busy/noisy. Hopefully the resorts in this area can wake up and realize having boats coming and going from the main beach is very ugly, ,noisy, smelly and dangerous - especially leaving anchors in the shallow water. Safety standards on diving way too relaxed - diving injuries statistics would be interesting:) Make sure you rent a boat for the day and go snorkeling around the island -very peaceful and we all loved it - we saw so many fish, turtles, caves etc. Our 5, 6, and 8 year old girls loved it. Take a big ice bucket with food and drink. Suites are the way to go. You only need breakfast -then go for alla carte.

We didn't stay in the resort, but our friends did, hence we hung out there quite often - we stayed in the Laguna Redang Resort, but 'our place' was so noisy, crowded and a mass tourism magnet, that we decided to a avoid it as much as possible!

Plus points about Coral Redang Island Resort:
- peaceful, quiet, chilled - definitely the quiet end of the beach (trust me...a old the Laguna side of the beach)
- great dive place with very helpful staff / dive guides
- great friendly staff
- great location, albeit no independant shops nearby

Not so plus points:
- menu needs some variety - quite basic and not a huge choice of alternative venues around
- water / beach not fantastic (but not the fault of the report I'd add)
- open sewerage stream next to report (not sure who this belongs too - needs fixing ASAP)

I'd definitely stay there if we return to Redang

Me and my family had our family trip at Coral Redang Island Resort (3 days 2 night). It was amazing to see white sand, clear blue sky as well as clear blue sea. The greetings could have been better, we were expecting a little more welcome than just a smile with no greetings. Rooms cleanliness was up to standard, but I was a bit disappointed that there were no television in the room. Meals were alright, but sometime the fish is bit hard. Snorkeling was good, staff were very friendly and always smile.
