We found this place by chance passing by from a snorkling tryp. The next day we hired a boat and spend the day at this beach and had lunch at Amannagappa. We were a big group - 6 adults and 6 children - but they receive us with a smile and prepared lunch for us. The food was delicious and the staff so friendly that we stayed there all the afternoon. unfortunatly it was the last days of our vacation otherwise we would definitly stay there for a few days. If ever come back we will stay here! If you want to avoid noise and confusion stay away from the other big resorts at redang and enjoy paradise at Amannagappa!

My friend and I spent 2 nights at this small and lovely B&B, the flight with Berjaya Air took around 90 minutes from Singapore. The trip was very convenient.
I made the arrangement via email and I got all the information needed very quickly in an uncomplicated manner. The bus transfer from the airport to the jetty worked out fine because there is a "bus driver coordinator" at the airport who makes sure you meet the right car driver. The ride took less than 10 minutes to the jetty and shortly after the boat arrived. We were picked up by Dino and Azhrim who manage the B&B. We loved the short boat ride to the B&B and there is no boat jetty at the B&B hence you hop off the boat barefooted on the beach.

I have visited many different beaches all over the world in Brazil, the Caribbean, etc. and this beach in Redang is definitely belonging to my top 3 now! The blue color shades of the water are breathtaking, the water is crystal clear and the sand at the beach is like white powder. The icing of the cake is the fact that you share this paradise beach with less than 10 other guests.
The rooms are spacious and in good condition, there were no mosquito’s at all. Breakfast, lunch and dinner consist of a small, fresh and healthy choice of local food. All day you can have water, orange juice and coke free of charge.
Even during on our snorkeling trip my friend and I enjoyed a “private tour”. We were able to decide spontaneously to have a trip. Azhrim and Dino guided us with the boat to the snorkeling spots and they knew how to avoid the overloaded snorkeling boat of the other hotels (that boat was filled with 50 people squeezed together). Hence for us it felt like a snorkeling trip with friends rather than with 50 other tourists.

There are around 5 people working at Amannagappa who always smiled friendly and both Dino and Azhrim always addressed us by name. Azhrim knows Redang and its Marine treasures inside out. During our snorkeling trip Azhrim explained us the names of the Corals and their characteristics, we apreciated this personal touch very much. My friend had a tiny foot cut so Azhrim and Dino asked constantly whether she needs more skin disinfection and made sure that my friend treated her cut correctly.
It’s a B&B hence there is no cocktail bar, no fitness studio or a gaming room – simply set your expectations right!
We avoided the large Berjaya hotel as we visited that hotel chain already in Tioman and we strongly dislike the annoying, crowded and noisy mass tourism.

At Amannagappa you will find peace, tranquility and an individual service!

We were glad to have opted for Amannagappa and not any of the noisy, crowded resorts on Redang Island. Although amenities were basic with rustic surroundings, meals were made to order and tours to Marine Park (a crowded place where depletion of corals occur daily from people pollution) and the turtle cove are provided for. There's no connection to internet or phone so if you want to "escape" from the urban jungle, this is it.
Service is good but servers don't speak English, so bring a dictionary. There's no daily room service. You may see the monkeys on the roof of your chalet and hear the cries of the monitor lizards in the morning. We enjoyed our 3 nights stay nonetheless.
