My first time to Redang Island. We took a 1-hour direct flight on Berjaya Air from Subang airport to Redang Island. From there, the resort sent a couple of vans to pick up guests staying at the Taaras.
My first impression on arrival at the lobby was that this resort seems great. The decorations and furniture seemed nicely touched up. Hospitality was top notch with the hotel staff serving us a cold welcome drink. The lobby itself leads to the bar/coffee house which faces the white sandy beach and clear green sea water - what a sight! Imagine how good it felt to be walking along the beach and wading in the waters!
We stayed in one of the villas facing the beach directly, so the view was wonderful! The room itself was very nice! Everything seemed touched up - the decor, tiles, furniture, paint, all seemed new. Bathroom was really modern looking! The toiletries provided is certainly very good - organic if I am not mistaken.
Food is OK. Not the best, given the lack of food spread options on Redang Island, but not bad. There's local, Chinese, Italian, Japanese, etc... More than enough to satisfy me.
I tried the spa - went for the deep, hard-press massage and I found it pretty worthwhile. In all, Taaras is certainly not cheap, but its a great place to escape the stress of today's world.More
