Just got back from my redang trip. Was there on the 27th Sept to 30th Sept and i must say i had a splendid time. Wanted to share some info so folks who go there would know what they can do or achieve.
I stayed at the Redang Beach Holiday @ Pasir Panjang Beach. It's the other end of Laguna Redangor the famous Mor Mor Tea House. The shape of the beach is L. Walking from one end to the other end of the beach basically takes 10 to 15 minutes walk. Slow walk i mean. It's a lovely walk during the day or even night. Pretty safe also. Basically The Laguna redang and redang beach resort are more happening. they have nightly bands and hotel food there. You can even walk in to one of the resort to watch live soccer. They have food stalls selling bubble tea, ramlee burger, coconut drinks, teh ais and some other resort food. Food ranging from rm6 to rm15 or more depending on delicacy.
Activities ??? If you are there, make sure you take pics at the Mor Mor tea house - it's the famous HK movie titile Summer Holidays by Sammie Cheng and Richie Jen. Diving - Lots of dive site out in the sea ranging from 5 minutes boat ride to an hour plus. I dived once at Mak Cantik , loved it but regretted only had one dive. Should have done more. Snorkeling ?? Well you can snorkel basically anywhere on the beach, and there are fishes. Take the white bread to the beach !! Sprinkle them right in front of you and in no time, the fishes will be right in front of you.. Around 4 or 5 pm, if you snorkel around the Redang Beach Holiday (darker green sea water ) side,, and if you are lucky you might catch a glimpse of the turtle. Well another trick is, at the intersection of he L shape, you wil see rocks forming at the corner of the island, small floats around the island, you can see lots of fishes including sharks. I manage to catch a glimpse of them daily. It was fun. Jelly fish?? Pretty small ones !! Sting a little but i think its manageable...if you are scare of the pain , wear a long sleeve pants n shirts but the jelly fish are not there all the time..so dont worry.. Your resort might take you for snorkelling at the marine park too..its lovely..the fishes..and corals there and even the sunken ship..remember to bring some cash there as you can buy food and drinks... In the afternoon, you resort willtake you to some island for snorkeling..depending on the season...the time i went snorkelling..there are like jelly fishes almost eveywhere...it stings but too many of it dont feel too good..like i said again..its all about season..not allthe time it happenns.. Rental of digital water camera is eitherrm70 or 100..Youdo not have to rent from your resort but u can ask around..Redang beach is about rm70..hehehe ..Like all digital camera , battery runs out pretty fast and u r able to change with them...
Blue sands?? This is during the night time where the sands glitter in blue at the sea short..It can be found along the beach...but the pretty obvious part is Redangg Reef Resort Beach.. Try googling for some answers.... That's about it. drop me a note if you need more info..have fun
