Loved our stay at Mira Beach! We had a little problem at check in (as mentioned with previous reviewers) with them saying that our room was given to someone else but after a few hours we managed to check in to the room we had booked! The food is excellent , The beach is beautiful and if youre looking for a quiet piece of paradise-Mira Beach is it! The rooms are a little rustic but it all adds to the secluded feel of the place! The owner 'Adenan', is very helpful and friendly and we truly had a fantastic stay at Mira Beach!

One of the last remaining hippie-style resorts from yesteryear, the cabins in this place are very rustic but functional, with large beds, mosquito nets, windows facing different sides, most of the small chalets with relatively unobstructed views of the pretty cove on which it is set, with its teal and aquamarine waters. Electricity and internet are only available from the evening into the early morning, but was usually consistently available in those times. The shared bathrooms are funky but functional, set higher up on the grounds that rise from the beach. The restaurant is somewhat expensive, a bit more than the typical establishment on the island, but the food is mostly very good. Mira's is the only establishment on this cove, which is a huge selling point, its privacy enhanced by the fact that it is so far away from Coral Bay. You can always snorkel in the cove which is not something you could say about a lot of Coral Bay and Long Beach what with all the boat traffic and pollution. And yet if you are intent on having some sort of social life here, it is a half hour to 40 minute trek to Coral Bay, which can get annoying to do several times a day, and the intimacy of this place is not that a selling point if families with screaming kids show up to spoil the fun, as did when I was staying here, which effectively cleared the beach out.

Room Tip: All cabins are pretty close to the beach, but you may want to opt for a newer cabin, as the old ones...

We stayed on coral beach for a few nights and then at Mira beach resort. The majority of accommodation on the island is on Coral bay or Long beach, which is where all the restaurants and bars are also. However, there is a little restaurant at this resort.

The beach is stunning with no one else on it apart from those staying at this tiny resort. Very peaceful and relaxing. The perfect place to watch the sunset with a beer or two in the sea.

Accommodation consists of huts on the beach. Basic but clean.

The owner is very friendly and helpful.

The only thing to consider is what type of trip you want. If you're looking to do nothing apart from chill and want to be away from everyone else, then this is the place for you. However, if you want a bit more than this then it's probably best to stay on coral bay or long beach (long beach can be noisy in the night time though). We ended up going for dinner and drinks in coral bay/long beach most evenings and it proved to be rather annoying/expensive to keep getting water taxis... particularly late at night.

We've been there 4 incredible days in a hut on the beach with shared bathroom (room n.2). The place is really beautiful, one of the most beautiful beaches I've seen in Perenthian Kecil.
The huts are basic, only with a bed with a net and a fan, but with that seaview you won't need anything else.
The bathroom is clean and the food of the restaurant is also good.
The owner is really friendly and welcoming.
It's really a place to relax and enjoy the nature.

Room Tip: Rooms n.2 and 3 are on the beach (shared bathroom), also n.1 (has wc inside)

Great location on beautiful white beach with clear water, about 40 mins walk to village, 30 mins to coral bay, extra 10 to long beach. Water taxi available as well if you don't fancy walking.

The huts are basic but sufficient to sleep in, we opted for one with toilet and shower ensuite, easier if you need a pee at night, shared toilets and showers also available and clean. Mossi net, fan and plug is provided, electricity available 7pm to 7am and a few hours during the day. They are currently building a new hut which looks bigger so watch out for any updates.

The open restaurant/cafe offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, small but good selection at reasonable prices, for my taste (and sweet tooth) a few dessert options would be great but guess would not be so good for your beach figure. If you fancy a change go to coral bay...but don't forget your torch light for the track back through the jungle.

Staff and owner Lan as majority of Malays are very friendly and accommodating.

Overall if you can manage without air-con and with basic amenities don't think twice, book a trip to paradise!!!

Lovely people, great beach, funny otter in the kitchen. Pretty back to basic, but what more do you need besides food, (private) beach and great people? Walk to Coral beach (30 minutes) or Petani beach (20 minutes) through jungle or take a taxi boat. Loved the fact that everyone over here is very relaxed.

Room Tip: We loved the suite (the big one!). Outstanding view from the terrace. Stayed 3 nights longer than pl...

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in October while on our honeymoon. We were worried that we would get rained out because we'd heard that late October is the beginning of the monsoon season. The weather was beautiful all day, but it stormed like crazy every night. We left one night early (although we didn't want to!) because we weren't sure we would be able to get off of the island to catch our flight the next day due to stormy seas. If you're travelling in October, I guess you just need to be a little more flexible with your plans in case the weather closes in on you. On the bright side, you'll have the Island pretty much to yourself!

The accomodations at Mira are not the main attraction, that would be the beach. Having said that, our cabin was clean enough, had a comfortable bed, fan and mosquito net. What more could you ask for when you are staying 12 feet from the ocean? Basically if you have ever been camping before in your life, you will be more than happy to stay at Mira. Those looking for a swim-up bar, room service, A/C and terry cloth robes, this is probably not your place.

The beach at Mira is one of the best on the whole Island. Protected from the weather so the surf is small, sandy and uncrowded, and you can snorkel right from there.

The owner of Mira, Adenan Bakar, treats you like family while you are there. He learns your name, and is genuinly interested in giving you a good experience.

Last of all, the food was awesome. The menu is fantastic and very affordable. I can't remember exact prices, but around 10-20 RM for a meal was about what we paid.
