Stayed here 2 weeks ago. Rooms are unchanged since the last time we were here 8 years ago, so there's something for you. some issues are that our toilet 'booth' reeked of urine, even after cleaning up several times.

The pool is huge but also very old, slides were given a cheap plastiky covers. its not that clean though, very cloudy. Also you're given a laminated coupon to redeem 2 beach towels, how the times have changed.. this resort used to be a nice upscale hotel but now feels like a dormitory now.

The beach is really nice with strong waves due to the monsoon season.

Dinner at the restaurant was nothing to shout about. Main issue there is that we had to wait 45 minutes to finally get our food. Breakfast spread was extensive but the quality is not much to be desired. Btw i feel like this hotel has becomed more of a government event hotel for their staffs & family to come & stay.

Overall, if you can stand staying in an old hotel room which is in not such a good shape then by all means do. Pool is huge & kids will have loads of fun. Beach is clean & wide. But I myself wouldn't want to come back here anytime soon. This would be my last.

Stayed for 3 nights again in this beautiful resort facing the South China Seas. This has been my favorite resort more than 10 years. The beach is clean and and there is a jetty at the other end of the sandy beach. It will take an hour to and fro to the jetty and hotel. About 3 km walk. However, the sea is quite rough for swimming but you can choose the Resort swimming pool. Very big swimming pool for all the family members (adults or children). There are many other beach games you can choose from (bicycle, boat, beach ball etc)
The food for breakfast is excellent! So many varieties to choose from comprised of local cuisine and western too.
There is also a Mall (Mesra Mall) about 8 minutes by car where you can find a big shopping Mall with Cinema and Bowling Alley.
Great place for family!

Room Tip: Get a room which is slightly higher for the beach view.

Located just beside the beach, this hotel is ideal for people who are looking for relaxing trip. Doing nothing else but just relax at the hotel or even the beach, then this hotel is definitely a choice when you visit Kijal. Facility within the hotel itself include swimming pools, cycling and other gaming facilities are available so you don't have to be bored even you do not come with a car.

Room is adequately clean, giving you a comfortable sleep. Room size is good enough for a family of 5 to stay in a single room (Depending on the type of room taken) Water temperature and volume is good, so rest assured that a comfortable shower is there already.

For traveler who travel with a car, then drive out and find some places to eat would be ideal. Roads in Kijal is narrow and small, so you could find a food stall / restaurant beside the narrow road easily, do stop by when you see a local restaurant beside the road and try out the malay cuisine prepared, price ranged from RM15 to RM20 per person depending on what is ordered.

The hotel is also relatively near to a river where you can watch firefly in Sungai Yak Yah, do ask the hotel reception on direction or hire a cab will do. But beware of the possibility of nasty charges imposed, so do ask the full price in advance before you go.

The building itself was pretty old, so were the facilities - so if you liked shiny new things, it might not be a place for you; otherwise, the hotel is a decent place to stay. The beach view was nice, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Most of the staff were very helpful and friendly, but some need to brush up their hospitality.

Kids will surely enjoy this resort, their amenities and foods are good. This resort is one of the best.
If you want to go on the nearby attractions, they have available package tours. But oopppss i do not think you can reach the place conveniently if you are going to commute with public transport, a cab will do.
