“Excellent stay!”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

My verdict: it is a great hotel to stay. Rooms are big, cosy and comfortable. Toilettries are complete. Tv, radio, hairdryer, refrigerator and iron are ready in the room. I did not need to call housekeeping anymore. Room service is up until 11.30pm. For Muslim guest, there is prayer timetable you can refer to. A departmental store and several restaurant are at the next block. Bank is a few steps away. If you drive, parking spot is available. What a great place to stay!

Compared to the Imperial palace hotel, where I stayed last year this is much older property. hence everything here spells its age aloud. Good location to stay on week nights but not during weekends as the place swells with Brunei visitors on weekends who drive down from a dry state to this 'watering hole'.
Small restaurant serves you the breakfast with a limited spread.
Getting taxis to move around should not be a problem as the hotel has a designated taxi stand, in fact I could fetch a taxi in the early hours to airport w/o any problem.
Hey ! one can enjoyed free Internet in the room, not wi-fi but wired one.
Its a real value for money kind of hotel.

It's in good location of town, surrounded by many shops, entertainment outlets and banks. Facilities includes small pool, steam bath etc. The breakfast you can do without. Room clean but there are sign of this hotel needs a facelift. Hotel staff not so friendly. At night quite noisy during weekends.

Room Tip: Room on level 2 facing the supermarket side is noisy from karaoke noise at night

Very strategic location, close to a supermarket, food stalls n the airport. Clean and well kept rooms. Simple but delicious breakfast spread. Breakfast starts as early as 5am - for early birds who want to adventure out before the sun is up , this is the place for you.Friendly staff and good service.

The hotel was clean and tidy with pleasant staff at reception.
If I had booked a cheaper executive room I would have got a lot of freebee benefits but they don't come with the suites. That is what reception told me. I had to ask because the internet page was not very clear. So book the executive room for better value.
The Chinese restaurant food was awful and breakfast was very simple.

Good value and staff try hard. Food was good and plentiful. All in all if you have the choice this is not a bad one. Near to some shops. Taxi's are available and will take you most anywhere. The GP is likely the best "in the city" as far as hotels go. The Marriott is by far a better choice. This is likely the runner up.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from drunk oilfield workers if at all possible. Do be aware this too is used by...

Room, carpet & furniture were quite old. Clean & tidy though. TV were not working properly but were too tired to complaint or change to another room.

Location were good. It's located near shops, eataries & a supermarket. There are pubs & clubs nearby, but it wasn't noisy as the hotel is facing another side of the area.

Overall, just OK. Not too impressive.
