I am staying in the middle row room. Hence, there is no windows. Even so, the brightness of the room is good when most more of the light is on. Unlike some other hotel, even with all light on, it still looks very dim. The room is clean and a moderate size bathroom.
There is plenty of shops surrounding the hotel and a supermarket near by. Foods and grocery is not an issue but if you were looking for Halal food, i suggest that you dine at the hotel as limited choice for halal food.

The Imperial Palace Hotel (not to be confused with the Imperial Hotel located nearby) is a very clean and friendly hotel. I can not comment on prices because I am here for business but the restaurant prices appear reasonable.

The restaurant food is very good with a wide selection. I particularly enjoy the Chinese menu although there is also a Western menu. To work off all the calories you consume there is decent sized gym with modern equipment.

The hotel is centrally located and the staff do anything they can to ensure your stay is pleasurable. Check in and check out is hassle free and the hotel provide free internet which I think should be standard in every hotel of any quality these days ( Free internet is a primary criteria for me). The internet speed is good.

I would recomment this hotel and choose to stay here again when I stay in Miri. Car enthusiasts will additionally enjoy the spectacle of impressive cars that frequent the driveway entrance.

Room Tip: Request a room that is located further from nearby nightclubs if sound is an issue.

I've stayed here twice. No regret for me. But different people may have different opinion about this hotel. But for me, this hotel is nice, clean & reasonable price. With the price of RM155 per night, buffet breakfast are included and the foo choices are not bad at all.The location are also good as you can find many food stalls behind the hotel. Next to the hotel in most popular Cherry Berries club. The room condition are also perfect with all the furniture & basic amenities provided. Bathroom are clean and comfortable. All in all, i can say this is a perfect hotel to stay in Miri.

A very new hotel and the facilities are excellent. I was not able to sample all of them as we were using it for a presentation and 1 night stay. The restaurant is modest and the buffet breakfast and lunch was also modest. The rooms are well furnished. The big letdown is that for most of the rooms, they do not face outside but instead, look into a corridor with the other side only 10 feet away. They try to simulate an outside view with artificial light and in fact I was fooled for a while. You have to decide whether you can sleep soundly with a corridor outside the glass window even if the access to that area is restricted.

Room Tip: You may have to pay more for a room facing the road

Stay for 2 nights over the last weekend. We had the standard room for RM155 nett including breakfast (we didn't eat at the coffee house though)
This building was a shopping mall before it was converted into a hotel recently hence many rooms at the core area do not have a "real" window view. However the management was thoughtful enough to build a long corridor that's sand-which between 2 rolls of rooms with pavement and fake plants (see photo)
Room was reasonable sized, very cleaned and well-equipped. Came with a mini bar, iron board, hair dryer, safe box, etc. I thought light was inadequate in the room and no full length mirror. We had problem with the centralize air-conditioning, it was way too cold for us, even though the unit was switched off, cold air was still coming through the vent. We had the hotel maintenance adjusted it but still didn't make any difference - so do bring a pair of sleeping socks, if you are like me, can't sleep at 19c temperature.
There's a club at ground floor which I'd guess it's the trendiest place in town right now, loud music and heavy base could be heard from our room. We didn't get to sleep until the wee hours of the morning. Not to mention walls were thin too, footsteps and trolleys sound penetrated the thin walls.
The hotel is situated among a commercial area, plenty of coffee-shops and amenities within walking distance. Just beside the hotel to the right is 88 coffee-shop where you can find local dishes like laksa, dry noodles and many more. Less than 5 min walk away is 2020 coffee shop which is famous for their dim sum and noodles. There are some halal / Indian restaurants too. To the left of the hotel, you can find Cherrie Berries bar & restaurant that has a live band and serves western food; opposite it is The Island bar & pub where you can get different types of cocktail. There's also a supermarket just a block away from the pubs.

Room Tip: 1) Ask for a room on the higher floor or far away from the Club! 2) Ask for room with a REAL outsid...

Stay for 2 nights. It worth for money. Wifi is ok. Sometime it will hang. But the speed is perfect for a business traveler liked me. Complete facilities in room. Iron and board, hairdyer, mini bar, safebox, amenities and sejadah for Moslem. Standard room for RM155. Windows with walkway sight. Breakfst is just nice.

Recommended to business traveler.
