I have been going to this restaurant since it first opened and it's a great restaurant for tasty Chinese dishes. Here is a run-down of the restaurants :
Food : Popular dishes are the suckling pig and Peking duck which is amongst the best in Miri. There is also a very popular dessert dish of honeydew with milk and scoops of vanilla ice-cream - a calorific sugar bomb so fair warning there.
Price : This is not a cheap Chinese restaurant but for the food choices that you will probably choose anyway, it's worth the price.
Service : This is a difficult classification to make as different people have different expectations. Mine happens to be lower than most and I will put up with a lot before I do get upset about food service. Malaysian Chinese have a strong expectations of good restaurant service whereas Mainland Chinese service staff are not known for their strong courtesy points. You may have to follow-up on drinks and food orders but honestly, it's no different from following up at busy hawker centers. This isn't a 5-star or a Michelin-star restaurant but the food is just as good.
Ambience : Generally, it's ok except that it can get noisy in the open area. There are private rooms but it can get stuffy a wee bit because they don't seem to air it out much. Just open the door for a bit and it should be fine. Like I said, it takes awhile to get me rilled up.
Special Occasions : If you bring along a birthday cake, they will help to keep it chilled in their fridge and play a Chinese birthday song over the speakers for you.
