Happened to pass by this place on our motorbike and thought it looked like a great spot for dinner.

Came back that night, even though there was a large function on we were still served well.

Hard to choose from such an extensive menu, but loved the flavor of everything we ordered. Would come back for the honey calamari any day.

There's not many views in Sandakan but this would be one of the best.

It is just a good experience having meals there. Good atmosphere and fresh air there.
To get there by 2 ways : rent taxi that will cost u rm 40( return ) or just have mini bus or bus heading to kampung sapi which cost u rm 2 . A lot of buses there during day time but difficult to get there during evening as buses only operated till 7 pm.
But don't worry the restaurant open everyday at 11 am till 230 pm and reopen again at 5 pm till midnight.
The staff there really helpful. They will suggest the best meals and I'm really happy with it.
One of my fav melas is yee mee lobster which costs me only rm 30 ( with fresh lobster )
Oerter than that try fish with ginger steam cooked and it's really tasty and fresh
My table is facing the sea and I can tell u with sea breeze make u feel in heaven. Apart from that u can see a big fish in their pond.... Good exoerience!

if you are really dissapointed from english tea house and balin roof garden and you like seafood than ocean king is ideal.
the place is full of local people and it seems that the restourant is famouse here.
they are better than so called fine dinning restourants in the city.
the price was fine not that bad its normal for sea food restourants.

I am very used to order food from menu which lists the dishes and their pricing. Over here at Ocean King Restaurant, there is no menu. The 'captain' would recommend a few famous dishes without the price tag unless you asked. There is no drink list as well so you have to ask what the restaurant offer in order to place order. Again no price tag unless you asked. To me it was a stressful food ordering process as the information to make decision was limited and I had no idea of the estimated amount.

Light at the end of the tunnel, the delicious food and sea breeze relaxed the tense muscles.

We went to this restaurant because of the very high recommendations by the locals. It is huge and has a vast menu. The prices are very ambiguous and we were helped by the maitre'D but because the prices are in grams, it is impossible to estimate how much you are ordering. Consequently, the dishes were too big and about a third of the food could not be eaten. The price was $130.00 for two of us. That included two fruit juices. I feel that this is an exorbitant price for Malaysian food. We had a nicer dinner for $20.00 in KK at the Welcome seafood restaurant. The food is of a very high standard but it is overpriced.
