Had three nights at Sabah hotel in June 2005. Arrived early Sunday afternoon after leaving Brisbane the previous night so were very tired. The hotel had a health club so my wife and I each had a massage which was excellant and reasonably priced. The health club and gym was well appointed.
The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the centre of Sandakan or a short taxi ride.
The food was great and on the Sunday night the hotel had a Malasian Hawker night with the seafood a highlight. The buffet breakfasts were also good.
Spent the next two days on full day tours so did not get to enjoy much of the hotels facilities. It was certainly good to come back to the hotel.
Only complaint were the beds which were dissapointing for what they claim is a four star hotel. We had twin beds with mattresses on boards. Would have expected an ensemble type bed for a four star hotel but as we were very tired after flight and two full day tours slept very soundly
