Hi Laksamana A,

Thanks for choosing to stay with us.

Actually our restaurant open daily from 7.30am to 10.pm. As we are located away from the town centre and in the jungle, it is rather difficult to find night life entertainment.

The night life entertainment in the resort is the night walk in the jungle which any tourist can do if they are interested. There will be chance to see Pitta, Civet Cat, Wildboar, Kingfisher, Slow Loris and many more.

Thank you for your compliments on our nature surroundings. It takes about 20 years for the trees to grow until where they are now.

We look forward to see you again.

Johnny

We did the 5D4N (5 days 4 nights) tour with Sepilok Tropical Wildlife Adventures, which included a stay at Sepilok Jungle Resort, one night at the Turtle Island and two nights at the Bilit Adventure Lodge near the Kinabantan river.
All was great! Everything was organised smoothly, starting with the warm welcome we got when picked up from the airport. Our plane was an hour late and we found out about it in the early morning before departure. This was too early to reach anyone so the driver wasn't informed up front and had to wait for us for the full hour. We apologised but he didn't care at all and gave us a very nice informative talk about Sandakan city. We picked up some more people as we headed for the Sepilok Orang Utan Centre. We saw eight Orang Utans including a few babies! Very cool.
The canopy walk was very nice as well.
The stay in the Jungle resort was very good, nice swimming pool (too bad it closes at 6.30pm) the room was clean and the food was great!
If there wouldn't have been bone chips in the chicken at Turtle Island (where we went next) we wouldn't have had anything to complain about. Very well organised and very nice island and tour! We saw a turtle hatch, we saw a mother turtle lay eggs and we freed baby turtles into the sea. All in all a great trip.
The city tour was a very welcome variety and the guide knew so much about the history. Very impressive. Loved it.
In bilit adventure lodge maybe the night walk was the best! Saw sleeping birds and a Chivet Cat. (Boots and Leech socks available for rent.) Wild Orang Utans in the trees during the river boat trip and many birds along the way.
Very friendly people, good food, great!
Drop off at the Nak hotel (highly recommended by the way) was arranged as well.
Nothing but good experiences. Thanks to all!

Hi Tim W,

Thanks for booking the tour with our sister company (sepilok Tropical WIldlife Adventure) and our sister lodge (Bilit Adventure Lodge) at Kinabatangan River. You are right about the night walk at Bilit. We have the best trails because it is on our own private land and no outsiders can go in there. The wildlife are happily staying there and they start breeding.

We are glad that you had a wonderful time staying with us and overall have thoroughly enjoyed your tour.

We will continue to make sure all the guests will have an enjoyable time while staying with us.

Once again, thank you and we look forward to serve you again in the future.

The place is amazing, so beautiful and peaceful. We stayed there 5 nights and loved this place. Rooms are clean and convinient. Everything works. The surroundings are magnificent as you can see hornbills etc. There is a restaurant which is ok. Staff is ok.

We can recommend this resort to families, couples and solo travellers.

Hi Anni-Helena,

Good to hear that you have enjoyed your 5 nights with us.

The hornbills are residents. When we first started the resort, we only see a pair of Oriental Pied Hornbill but it has grown since then. Now we lost count and we see many more other species too such as the Rhinoceros Hornbill, Black Hornbill and the Bushy Crested Hornbill.

Not forgetting many other birds like the Storkbilled Kingfisher, Blue eared Kingfisher, Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher, broadbills and pittas.

We have set aside 20 acres of land for them with many different species of fruits trees. Even the Orang Utan were here yesterday. 2 of them!!

We look forward to serve you again in the future.

This is a very pretty place with nice walkways and water features. Indoor/outdoor dining is nice with water and/or turtle view and even a "resident" kingfisher. Enjoyed the room's balcony looking at trees. Also enjoyed the big pool in nice location, though you do pay a small fee for this. Pretty easy walk to Rainforest Discovery Center, which is what we were interested in seeing. Nice beginning to our rainforest adventure. Good stop before moving on to the Kinabatangan and more "hard core" wildlife viewing.

Hi Yoblair K,

Thank you for choosing to stay with us.

We are happy to hear that you have a great stay with us.

All the wildlife come naturally to the resort because we have planted a lot of fruits trees in the area. In fact there were 2 Orang Utan who came yesterday to Banana Cafe.

The turtles are happily staying there because we have hactched many of them and now we have a little turtle nursery for them. Many locals start release their turtles to us because they do not want them anymore and they will not be able to survive in the wild.

We look forward to welcome you again.

My husband and I stayed at the Sepilok Jungle Resort (SJR) for four nights and we found it convenient as a take off point to the Rainforest Discovery Center (RDC) to watch for birds. The SJR provides transfer to and from Sandakan for RM18.00 per person and you can also request them to transport you to and from RDC for RM 3.00 per person per trip. They charge higher if you want to go early, like 6:00 a.m. The room we got had hot shower and airconditioning and they provide coffee and two bottles of water. They also change towels everyday. Breakfast, although very basic, is packed for you if you want to hit the trails early. Otherwise, you can have a buffet breakfast of chicken sausages, beans, toasted bread, fried noodles and coffee. Dinner is not fast food but reasonably priced. You may need to wait 20-30 minutes to get your food especially if the Resort has a catered affair. The forest area around the resort is rich with birds and one can spend an afternoon just looking for birds. During our stay, we saw the resident stork billed kingfisher, crimson sunbird, little spiderhunter and by the road, two kings of hornbills- Oriental Pied Hornbill and Rhinoceros Hornbill. The receptiion staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about the tours available and the drivers assigned to taxi you is punctual and courteous. The SJR has a sister hotel which is the Bilit Lodge in Kinabatangan where one can take the river cruise and you can negotiate for a good price. SJR has a pool and for a minimal fee, one can use it and rent towels.

Once again, thank you and hopefully when you are back next time, there will be even more resident birds.

We loved this place, we stayed 2 nights in July in a deluxe bungalow which we were really happy with, lovely peaceful view from our balcony. The grounds are breathtaking, the walk to the restaurant every day was a real treat, the pool area way exceeded my expectations and was well with the tiny entry charge, if is a perfect place to cool down after the heat and humidity of the orangutan and discovery centres (which are a very short walk away, and well worth a visit). I must make a special mention to the 2 girls on reception who were amazing, really lovely and friendly and a brilliant asset to the Resort. Would recommend and will definitely return, thank you for a lovely visit.

We had two nights here recently. It had a real quirky feel to it, more like you were staying in someone's private residence than in a hotel. Like most of the places we stayed it looks as if its seen better days (my theory is that with the hot humid climate everywhere is at its best on day one and the maintenance jobs come round far more quickly than they do here) but don't let that put you off. The restaurant was fine, adequate although a bit I unexciting for veggies like us. A good option.
