We came across this mickey mouse suite upon googling a car rental service at Sandakan. The suite is a 3 bedroom condo complete with kitchen appliances and tv box which are not functionable due to the low signal of wifi. The suite is clean, nice and spacious for us family of 8 plus 2 children. Location is near to the airport and theres a small town and McD nearby.
What disappoint us, was his management especially the car rental service. I was lucky to have reminded him through whatsapp that we are coming to sandakan on 6th of July and he got panicked and said he thought we were coming on 7th and will look into our chat history and few minutes after gave us the excuses of him stating the wrong date on his calendar and everything was a rush arrangement for us. We were lucky there is no overlap booking for the suite.
However, the car rental arrangement went chaotic. First, he is not dropping both the MPV car of chery and rexton for us at the airport as per request. He is picking us up with a naza citra instead and let the rest of the family take Grab to the condo. Still, we were ok with that. After all its only rm6.
Second, when he gave us the citra key, i was further upset it was not chery. Still, ok..its still a mpv.
Next, upon checking in the suite, he did briefed us on how to access the house and all the facilities there and asked for a full payment for the house, and both car and said the 2nd car is on the way.
While waiting at the house, he send a text if it is ok if he give us a myvi and viva instead. We were automatically upset with his excuses of the car broke down, no power etc etc.
We were paying for a mpv not a small car. And he refused to lower down the price and keep on saying he rented the myvi for a higher price just to cover our booking and that he is doing it not on purpose.We feel cheated with his advertisement, cheap price for a big car but then end up with a small car.
We end the argument and accept the myV and move on with our trip.
Next, we were only notified to fill up the fuel tank at 8.42am when we were rushing to the airport. We were trying to make a deal with him to compensate us at least the fuel because he already gave us so many excuses of giving us a smaller car for a price of mpv car and at least understand that we have no time to fill up the fuel as much as we understand his excuses of him stating the wrong date and those rush arrangement for us but he did not!!!! He even said we can refuse to take the myVi at first. How can we refuse it when we only knew about it after the payment was made and he only notified through whatsapp while we were waiting for the car when he already know way much earlier that his car is broken.
My mum was so naive to just give him the fuel money and finally shut his arguement. He then walked away with a very annoying rolling eyes.
He did anyway ask for a bank acc no to return the balance fuel money. We understand his honesty but we were already very upset with his management and arrangement.
Do constantly remind him about any of your booking details should you need to rent his suite or car.
