There really isn't English tea here that you find in the posh London hotels but you can have a quick lunch and tea and scones with ice cream in a beautiful setting. Excellent service.

We had a very enjoyable outdoor dining experience, we were with a large group and the food was sufficient and well presented.
The staff were professional and attended to every request, the view over Sandakan is very impressive and worth the experience.

The place is meant to open at 10am. It's even signposted when you get there as 10am.
We arrived at 10:20 to find 3 members of staff apparently asleep at the front desk. One woke up when we arrived and just said "not open" and turned to go back to sleep.
I asked when it would be open and got "maybe 12". Then she turned her back on me. 2hours late??

Rude, unprofessional and I wouldn't bother turning up before the afternoon if you really want to go. And no, you can't say "well that's Asia", it isn't - I've travelled throughout the region extensively - it's just laziness and poor management.

My friend and me just loved the English tea house ! Actually we weren't looking for western food but we liked the atmosphere that much that we came there twice in just three days stay.
Really nice staff, awesome view and good food for reasonable prices (Cocktails for 13 ringgit) !
The waitresses outfits are very cute as well :)

We ate here at the end of our trip to the jungle, as part of our tour package. The restaurant is quite cute, set amongst manicured lawns and rose bushes in an attempt to give the humid, tropical climate an English feel! It seems a bit of an unecessary gimmick, but the setting is pleasant and has a nice view over the harbour.

They offer a set menu for lunch, which was reasonably priced but doesn't offer much choice. The food was average, staff friendly enough, but I don't think we would have chosen to eat here if it wasn't part of our tour. Plus, it's a bit out of the way unless you have a car.
