It's was part of the heritage trail walk and also recommended on TA, so I made the climb p the 100 steps and then the long driveway that leads too this little gem. It's a little piece of colonial England overlooking the town. They Buildings are quaint and well maintained. It has a wonderful outdoor area under a large tree that catches the sea breeze, essential if you have walked up here. I had the high tea, a little pricy but very enjoyable. Cucumber sandwiches, cakes and scones with jam and cream with a pot of local tea (they ran out of earl grey and English breakfast). It was very civilised and combined with the view and sunset, very enjoyable, a must see in Sandakan. They even have a croquet pitch if you want to learn of just have a bit of fun!

I visited here after trekking up the stairs so was in need of a drink. Boy was it good! It gave me a real slice of home after being away for over 7 months. The food was delicious. I had the set menu and couldn't fault any of it...followed by the warm scone. Boy oh boy!

Not only was the food good, but the view over Sandakan and the islands was pretty special too.

Also you are able to play croquet on the lawn totally free of charge.

All in all I killed about 3 hours here lapping up all the goodness!

The scones and crumpets were splendid. As for the toilets, the ladies was very dark and there was only one candle used to light up the whole bathroom. But other than that detail, it was breezy, nice atmosphere, staff was friendly and the view is nice.

Restaurant is situated in a lovely garden with nice views over the coast. Food is well cooked and reasonably priced although service a little slow.

The view of the restaurant on the island is wonderful and its a nice little quiet place to go! The food service is a little slow but it's still not too bad. We had the fish and chips which was oily but still good. My friends had the afternoon tea set which was average. The place is nice to hang out with friends.
