It's was part of the heritage trail walk and also recommended on TA, so I made the climb p the 100 steps and then the long driveway that leads too this little gem. It's a little piece of colonial England overlooking the town. They Buildings are quaint and well maintained. It has a wonderful outdoor area under a large tree that catches the sea breeze, essential if you have walked up here. I had the high tea, a little pricy but very enjoyable. Cucumber sandwiches, cakes and scones with jam and cream with a pot of local tea (they ran out of earl grey and English breakfast). It was very civilised and combined with the view and sunset, very enjoyable, a must see in Sandakan. They even have a croquet pitch if you want to learn of just have a bit of fun!
