You overlook the new part of Sandakan and the Agnes Keith House is just around the same compound. Scones served with whipped cream and jam are to die for. Very friendly staff. Will definitely visit when I drop by again.

We visited the English Tea House during our Heritage Trail walk. It is right beside Agnes Keith House and we had just climbed the stairs with the 100 steps so it was a good place for a rest. We ordered a 3-course set lunch which was on promotion and cost 15 MYR plus tax and service. It consisted of pumpkin soup, chicken breast and a fresh fruit platter. It was delicious! Service was good and the location was incredible.

We went to the tea house for some lunch. The food was delicious, both their fried rice and also the scones were wonderful!
We had the Delight afternoon tea, which for RM25 got you a pot of tea, sandwiches, two scones and some mini cakes. It was all brilliant!
The garden is beautiful and very peaceful, the service was very good and the menu had a wide variety of choices.

Very nice Afternoon Tea with Cucumber Sandwiches and cakes watching children enjoying a game of croquet on the lawn (although they didn't really know quite how to play!!). Our only criticism was that Earl Grey was served as standard whereas we would have preferred Sabah tea but that is a personal preference and no fault of the Tea House.

Ideal place to spend a short relaxing time over tea or a meal. Garden is well kept but lacks flowering plants. Garden seating under the trees are cooling. However, you will have to put up with ants and insects. You will see ants crawling on the table carrying your crumbs right before your eyes.
