“A little bit of Heaven”

Great location, friendly staff, cozy, private. Although they have set menus and set times for meals, the staff bent over backwards to feed our children at odd times. Lovely beach, our children didn't want to go anywhere, you can snorkel right there. We are definitely going again!

A jewel of a resort, a wonderful location, peace and quiet. My wife & I and two children (13 & 16) stayed for 3 nights and 4 days in April 2013. We have visited very many islands off Thailand & Malaysia and we enjoyed this resort hugely.

Would certainly suggest to fly instead of taking the ferry. From the greeting at the airport to the sad farewells at the airport drop off we had a brilliant time.

The staff are very polite and helpful - especially Tony the owner and manager. The spa delivers a relaxing atmosphere and the two Thai ladies provide authentic massages & treatments.

We walked to the local village and saw plenty of wildlife - monitor lizards, birds, snake, monkeys, large squirrel, butterflies, etc. However the highlight and the main attraction is the snorkelling and diving. The snorkelling off the beach is excellent with clear water and a great variety of coral and sea life, including, turtles, sharks (don't worry - only black tip reef sharks), bat fish, moray eels, cuttlefish, barracuda, etc.

The rooms were perfectly clean and well maintained.

The food was plentiful and tasty - however it could have been more spicy for our taste - perhaps provide chopped chilli or sambal for those wishing to spice it up a bit.

Lovely cocktails watching the sunset.

A perfect place for a relaxing - get away from it all holiday !

Well done to Tony and all the staff - we will certainly be back for many stays.

I chose the resort for our short getaway in April 2013 because of the reviews from trip advisor.

The resort has one of the best locations on Tioman. The water is very calm & crystal clear & the reef just off the beach is all you need.

The hotel is small & can only take around 36 guests total, which is exactly what I was looking for. This is a simple place with a lovely outlook & good food. If you are looking for a mainstream, luxury hotel, then this is not the place for you. The rooms are simple yet have everything you will need, especially an incredible view!!

We snorkelled every day (equipment available from the hotel dive centre) & went "jungle trekking" which was great. The reef off the beach is spectacular especially as there is no long boat trip to get to it, if you feel like snorkelling all you have to do is wade into the water & you are right there.

The overall atmosphere is very chilled & relaxed.

The resort is perfect for families with children as mum & dad can relax on their loungers while kids play on the beach & in the water. The cove is protected & so there are not strong currents or waves & even small children are fine.

I especially like Minang because it's so small & not crowded even though it was around 75% full when we were there.

You may think it is a little pricey for what you get, but you must remember that Tioman is an island & EVERYTHING has to come from the mainland.

My only gripe is that the beds & pillows are little old... )-:

Room Tip: We stayed in the beach front deluxe which has the best view but is above the dive centre, so if you...

Small friendly place in the middle of nowhere. Untouched nature with wild animals and a wonderful diving surrounding. Just amazing!
Charming staff - one for each guest.
Bungalows are just typical cozy and simple but relly nice.

Ive stayed for 2 nights and TOTALLY regretted it! The rooms provided are very basic, muddy and murky seawater and the price for the rooms damn damn expensive. Theres not much activity can be done there except snorkelling and watching them feeding the sharks every night. The boat transfer fee is damn expensive as well.

I will never return here again and pls dont come here, nothing much here and damn expensive!

In response to your review lzdyhar82. You Said your stay at minang cove resort was in January 2012. This can not be so, as we are closed for the monsoon from end of October to beginning of March, every year. Either you have your dates mixed up or you stayed at another resort.
If however you have got your dates mixed up and you have stayed with us, here is my response to your comments.
In all our rooms we have, airconditioning, hot water showers, stocked mini fridges, complimentary tea n coffee, safe deposit boxs, the standard things found in most hotels.
We provide a verity of activities from scuba diving, kayaking, boat trips, island tours, fishing trips, jungle treks, a selection of Spa treatments, as well as snorkelling and fish feeding.
As for our rates you will find, we have the cheapest room rates, among the top 4 rated resorts on Tioman.
All beaches around tioman are sandy with coral fringe. Clarity of water and sea conditions are out of our control.
Our speed boat transfer rates are RM30.00 cheaper then at the sea taxi desk at Tioman airport, and bare in mind we are one of the furthest resorts from the airport.

Minang Cove was recommended to us by friends and we couldn't have had a better location on the island. From management to family to staff, all were naturally friendly and helpful.
We only left the resort for a short walk to acquaint ourselves with the environs as we enjoyed using the resort facilities. Snorkeling off the beach was excellent, plenty of coral and colorful fish.

Room Tip: All rooms have a great view of the cove

This was special. Rolling out of our cool, en suite room to the sound of monkeys, strolling down to a lovely breakfast with the beach and the sea just a few strides away....swim followed by a read of one of the books from the library .....boat to a coral island for a snorkel.. back in time for tea and home-made cakes (monkeys looking on enviously).. into the sea for another snorkel around the coral before a cold beer during happy hour...terrific dinner...meander to end of the jetty to watch the sharks feeding... back to bar for a nightcap and a laugh with staff and other guests....off to our very comfortable bed feeling wonderfully relaxed and tired. Get up the next morning and do it all over again.

Tony and his family have created a little bit of heaven on earth. The perfect size of resort in a perfect location. We'll be back
