“Own Swimming Pool !”
Reviewed May 24, 2012

Stayed at Premium Pool Villa and what joy! Huge rooms, friendly staff, villa on top of water and fresh air. But best of all it comes with own little pool. My daughter loved it. Highly recommended if coming over to KL and want a short trip away from the town. Only about an hour away from KL and you can take a taxi as they are very cheap in Malaysia.

Room Tip: Pay extra for the pool villa.

Recommended to us by a local, we stayed for 2 nights (arriving on a Saturday) in the water chalets which are very well appointed with a great bathroom. We were impressed by the food in the restaurant, well prepared, fresh and tasty. Good service too. It's very busy at weekends, so don't go then for a quiet time, but by Sunday afternoon the pool was deserted and we had the superb hot tubs to ourselves.

Was back in PD after a year long. Used to stay at water chalet but decided to stay at tower this time for the sea view. Was on the 8th floor and view is picture perfect. But disgusted with the housekeeping, fridge with leftover mcdonlads, broken chair, bed sheets with blood stains and footprints and dirty bathtub. What a waste for such nice room but marred by the not so clean room.

With the recent trip to getaway from the bustling city in Kuala Lumpur, me and my husband have decided to go to Port Dickson as it is the nearest town from KL with sun and sea. I have decided to book Lexis as I looked through the reviews from Tripadvisor, but i guess mostly people have let their guards down on the expectation.

I left Kuala Lumpur and took the KL-Seremban Highway to Port Dickson. Took the Seremban-Port Dickson highway and decided to take the second exit to PD instead of the first one. My advise is to take the first exit as Lexis is nearer to Lukut town than the usual hot spots for resorts in PD.

The road entrance to Lexis is the same of Glory Beach resort and it is located in between Glory Beach Resort and Grand Lexis Port Dickson.

The first impression on the building is not too bad. But there were not bellman to help us unload our luggages from the car, instead, me and my husband have to unload them ourselves before my husband can park his car. Once you step into the lobby, you can immediately see a big chunk of the lobby filled with buntings selling another resort-to-be called hibiscus. On the right you can see the reception which is filled with at least 6 persons but all talking to each other, and tried to look busy as i approach the check in counter. I booked a Deluxe Water Chalet. Check in was prompt and as I notified them there were no bellman to help out with our luggage, the front desk assistant immediately called the concierge table to make sure that we are taken care of.
Our luggage we loaded to a buggy before they take us and our luggage to our Water Chalet which was just 2 minutes ride.

Upon reach our room, we opened the door and was greeted with a musky smell from the room, must be from the wooden interior in the room. You will see the bathroom first, then the jacuzzi, a door to the bedroom and another door to the private balcony. It is written in the website that the room is with balinese touch, which i can hardly find (perhaps its time for them to update the contents on their website) it feels more Malay than Balinese actually. The room is equipped with two single beds merged into one as a King-sized bed and a day bed.

The private balcony is good for fresh air but the direct view is Grand Lexis Water Chalet which is right opposite of us.
The Wifi connection is good and strong.
There is a glass panel in the bath area, which i find is pointless as the water is murky and greyish.

After resting in the room for an hour or so, i filled the jacuzzi so that i can let my baby to have a swim, but it took an hour to fill the tub as the hot water tap was with low pressure. The worst thing was that every time we take a shower or release the water in the jacuzzi, the bathroom will stink like rotten eggs, which we thought we were the smell of stinky sea water from down below.
The air conditioning in the room is also bonkers, it is as cold as ice even though we put it as 30C, i guess the thermostat is not working. I was staying in room 21L by the way.

The package that we took, came with a set dinner in the coffee house, which was just average like it took very little effort for them to make it and tasted so-so. The furnishing in the coffee house looks old, like its from an old hotel, considering that Lexis was launched in 2008.
The breakfast in the coffee house was also so-so, like a 3 star hotel offering, they had a action stall for nasi lemak, and the poor girl manning the store was always just stirring the condiments around, i guess she has got nothing much to do but than to help the guests scoop the rice. They had chicken ham and sausages but were left to dry and to be finished by guests before replenishing, white porridge with condiments, fruits and salads which are very limited as well.
The funny thing with this resort is that they only provide 2 bottles of water per guest room per day. Any additional bottle of water will be chargeable which i find it strange as i have never been charged for water provided by hotel before unless it is from the minibar.
Overall the experience is just so-so. Would choose to stay in Thistle if i decide to stay in Port Dickson next time.

We stayed two nights at this lovely water chalet. Our room was comfortably furnished and faced other water chalets.

Staff were helpful and friendly. There is a free buggy service that shuttles between chalets and hotel lobby, but we always opt for a relaxing stroll along the waterways.

We also tried out the Segway fun ride which only cost RM10 for two rounds. There is a swimming pool that is always crowded with kids. There are many fun activities for the families, like fishing with rented rod or playing boardgames.

Would recommend this place if you are looking for a relaxing getaway in Port Dickson.

Room Tip: Choose a water chalet that faces the straits. The view is better, and it is also more breezy.

We booked the Premium View Tower for 3D2N package. Upon checking, our room was upgraded to Water Chalet on the same price. Upon checked-in, we were amazed by the interior design. My kids were looking forward to dip in the pool and we were blessed as our room was near the pool. The rhythm of the sea wave amused my kids as this was their first experience to stay at water chalet. We did a touring along the water chalets and enjoyed the smooth fresh air. The pool is ok but a bit small to cater a big crowd. Overall, this is one of the best hotel in PD and I will definately recommend it to family and friends.

We stayed for one night at this hotel at this hotel as part of a Malaysian Tour. We were in a high room with a lovely view over the sea high above the Water Chalets. The room was well appointed but it was spoiled by an extra double bed in an alcove in front of the window which meant that we had to go on the balcony, which was very hot ,to enjoy the view.Incidently the afore mentioned double bed was only acessible from one side. If the room was meant to cater for a family as well as a couple why not put a sofa bed there to cater for everyone? Slippers were provided but disappointingly no bathrobes. There was an attractive swimming pool with comfortable loungers to the side of the hotel There was a good buffet breakfast with plenty of choice. We had a pleasant if brief stay but the hotel appeared to be very isolated.

Room Tip: Request a high room
