Found a good deal during Matta Fair in March which is using Weekday rate and check in on Wesak Day, then got a room upgrade to water chalet.
Check In was crowded and our room need another 15 min to be ready and we then invited for a welcome drink. In less than 15 min I got a call from operator saying my room is ready and key can be collect from the receptionist. It was so great and kids are really excited to get into the water chalet. When we 1st step into the room, the floor is not clean, room furniture & bedsheet especially the day bed can see dust on it, balcony and standing shower area dirty as well. Then the room got a old smell. It's quite disappointed with the room condition. The room really under maintained and maybe there is sometimes nobody check in, then housekeeping didn't touch up the room before guest check in. My kids start asking for the room slipper as can feel the floor is disgusting. After that I found there is no room slipper provided, as well as there is no bath towel and floor mat in the room. After called several times finally I got the room slipper & etc.
A moment later we found there is a family with luggage standing outside our room, then we found out there is double check in!!! After that I got disturb by the staff checking my room key, then another staff come again to send me the new key card suppose is belongs to the family that waited outside just now and then staff calling me to check my current room no. Its really annoying.
The surrounding was great with nice sea view and full range of facilities. This resort got 3 swimming pools, the kids swimming pool really dirty... Maybe too crowded... Then we decided to enjoy another swimming pool in front of the restaurant. It was fun.
The breakfast was crowded too but we understand it is due to the long weekend... The foods selection is decent...
Overall experience is OK but not great... The Management really needs to look into the room cleanliness to let guests have a pleasant stay in their resort.

Stayed in May over the Vesak Day long weekend, booking made via Agoda.

LOCATION
It is recommended to drive - public transport is limited and the nearest international airport is probably Kuala Lumpur. We drove after a night’s stay at Sepang and it took around 1hr to get there.

The resort is self-sufficient but you will be able to find some eateries and shops within walking or short driving distances.

ROOMS
All rooms are wooden water-chalet styled and is a nice getaway from the city, the units further out enjoy unobstructed sea views, which are the best when the tides come in. Every room comes with an outdoor deck, which might be perfect for sunbathing or a quiet read if they did not face those of the opposite neighbouring units. Rooms are generally large and suitable for families travelling with children — our room came with a daybed next to the windows, which is perfect for lounging or as extra-bed fit for 2 children.

Our room also came with a very neat semi-outdoor shower, which is overlooks the shallower sea on the beach below.

FACILITIES
Nice walks around the resort’s garden grounds, complete with an aviary and a small petting coop which opens every morning for feeding. Nice touch of reading spots along the walkways — sheltered lounge chairs overlooking a bit of the sea. The resort’s walkways also leads out to a nice stroll along Tumasek Beach.

Complete shower amenities, hairdryer, hot-water making services, and an electric insect repellent can be found in the room.

Didn’t manage to use all facilities but there were also a children’s club, karaoke / movie room, the Avi Spa, and 2 pools — one of which is adult only.

F&B
The resort was full over the weekends but kudos for setting up an alternate breakfast spot to ease the crowd. The spread was small but sufficient, comprising of a good mix of Western and Asian options. We also had lunch in the main restaurant — reasonable pricing for a resort.

There’s also a nice lounge / bar on the too floors if you’d need a nice drink to end the evening.

OVERALL
Some wear and tear in the resort but still a nice place to unwind at. Staff are also very friendly albeit it being really busy while we were visiting.

The property has had little to no maintenance undertaken since our last trip in 2012. The hotel had a rustic charm, now it is dated and in need of desperate upgrading. Our hotel our room was not stocked with towels or toilet paper. After repeated calls, some of which we made from our personal phone as it was impossible to get staff to pick up calls made from the room, my husband walked to housekeeping to secure these items. Day 2, the room wasn't made up until we chased down house keeping again. Multiple calls later, four boys arrived at 4pm to make the beds, but again they did not replace towels or stock the toilet paper. My husband ended up appropriating paper from the toilet by the pool. What should be a lovely facility really needs new management and decent housekeeping staff. The breakfast buffet was ok but nothing to rave about. The restaurant food on the other hand was very good. The pools comfortable and the kids petting zoo a lot of run. The biggest atrocity though is charging guests a tourism tax and then not using that revenue to clean the beach surrounding the hotel. People come to hotels like this to enjoy the facilities and the adjoining beach. The fact the beach was littered with tonnes of plastic is downright disgusting. Hire someone to clean the beach daily. You might argue this is the council's job, but if you want to give your guests a 360degree experience, clean the beach. This was a very disappointing return, it is highly unlikely we will come again.

Everything was in order as per plan. Staff is helpful yet some of them can improve their PR while dealing with guest. Breakfast is ok. Facilities is ok too. The only can shout out at this hotel is the environment and the sunset view which one can appreciate. Kids can have their own activities too - pet farm, kids room etc.
