This hotel is more like a 3 star hotels / resorts. The facilities offered is very basic and the management should pay more attention to the cleanliness of the room. Breakfast is basic and not intersting at all. Covered car parking space is limited.

There are not many good hotels in Port Dickson, but Avillion Admiral Cove is certainly one of the best, reasonably price, spacious room (we stayed in the Straits Suite), well equipped. Broadband internet FOC in room, but for wireless, you have to go to their restaurants. Room is clean though deco is only average. Staff were friendly.
Breakfast --standard Malaysian fare, adequate but nothing exciting though!
Good for couple for quiet holiday. The straits view, including the sunset scene, is fantastic

Room Tip: Spend a bit more to get a Straits Suite, worth the extra $$

We had booked two non-smoking rooms on-line but on the actual day, the counter staff said they could only gave us rooms at the smoking area. Found hair in the basin and toilet floor not cleaned properly. Shower cap left by previous customer was still in the toilet. Rained most of the time so we were unable to have any outdoor activity. However, the resort does not have any in-door program or activity for children. Adults also have nothing to do except sleeping and watching tv. Their breakfast was below average and staff not fast enough to clear the tables. The food was only average. We drove out of the resort to visit their night markets but they were such a disappointment because there was really nothing much to see or buy. The only good thing is it is affordable but definately not worth if you want to spend quality time with family.

Room Tip: Try to get room facing the jetty cos they have better view.

Despite the adverse comments on Tripadvisor, comments from fellow travellers at our previous hotel and the hotel failing to answer our email to add additional night to our stay, we were pleasantly surprised by the friendly efficient check-in. We were upgraded to a premium room, which was large and newly refurbished in contemporary style and included a good size fridge, tea and coffee tray complimentary dailynwater and newspaper and it had a side view of the Marina with gleaming yachts bobbing about.

We were the only Westerners staying there for the two nights but there was a bar serving alcohol and food with live music and coverage of football matches. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The downside was the restaurant serving buffet breakfast, which simply could not cope with the large corporate guests and there were waits for breakfast and staff could not replenish the cutlery, glasses, plates etc.
Not sure that I would recommend for couples but kids were well catered for. There is a sister hotel about 6k away, where we dined one night. It is a more intimate chic hotel with accommodation in villas on stilts in the sea, which would be my recommendation.

Overall, not a bad hotel with adjacent sandy beach.

Room Tip: Top floor over looking straits of Malacca

was expecting a good trip, but at the it was a dissapointed one...
travelled with my wife, we booked a strait suite because it looks great in photo (instead of Thistle). Arrive around 2pm and lobby was quite crowded. Room was not ready and receptionists said only can check-in by 3 o'clock. Okey... we put our stuff back to car and check around in the resort.
Small pool, limited facility, and it was a full house day (due to long weekend and school holiday)... result, the poor little pool full with children and not even a chair for me to sit...
Went back to the reception area ard 3.15pm and there was damn crowded! and the room was still not available. What?? Its ridiculous! and the receptionist only said "I can't confirm with u." wait for 20 mins.. Hotel gave us welcome drink voucher and asked us to wait, again...
4.15pm and they never called up. we went to check again and finally we have our room...
Guess what? More RIDICULOUS thing happened! there is NO TOWEL in the room!! i called to housekeeping and they told me they have sent all the towel for cleaning, have to wait until 730pm for the towel to come back! What kind of hotel is this?? even budget hotel can do better! No LAN cable in the room, and they asked me to go to reception collect personally and pay Rm10 deposit! Fainted... no pen in the room as well, and i couldn't fill up the review form...
and funniest part come, there is a LIVE soccer match in the bar (Liverpool vs Man City) on 12am, but the bar insisted to shut down at 1am, which only showed half match... come on, u put a BIG banner said that u have a live match but only show half way??

Conclusion, not worth it and will not visit for second time.

Room Tip: Try Strait suite only. My wife stayed in a seaview room before but can hardly see the sea...
