I went to Qadisha 10 years ago and it was lovely! Now? What happened? Writings on every rock of the cave? Water bottles in the water? It's a shame that no one maintains this beauty!

This place seemed to me what paradise looks like. It's green and has monasteries clinging to the walls of the valley. There were waterfalls and flowers everywhere. At the end of the road (for cars) there is a fantastic restaurant overlooking the valley. They serve dishes made with local ingredients here and if you're up for it, some strong distilled stuff. The messes have so many dishes that I would recommend you don't go for mains.
The monasteries are well-kept and very interesting. The walking path (where we went) was also OK for kids over 5 years old. You do need to be quite fit though as some of the paths are steep.

in Bcharre, overlooking the valley there is a phenician pyramid or obelisk, it is easily 2500-3000 years old. in the valley, you can find monasteries and walk/hike; there are incredible things to see like the phenician 'sphinx' in Turza, start of the valley

Qadisha is known for being the refugee for the maronites during many centuries where they have built monasteries , churches.. They used to live in caves cut in the rocks that u can still visit. Beside that Qadisha has panoramical magnificent view it gives you a wonderful feeling of peace... it s also a very nice area for hiking knowing that it is in the north of Lebanon close to the Cedars , during winter it is full of snow
