This camp is a perfect get away or a stopping point on the way to Tsavo East. It has nice but fairly old tented accommodation that overlook the Galana River. There is a swimming pool where you can relax and if you are lucky, watch the wildlife wandering along the river. We saw elephants and buffalo and the Masaai guards managed to coax the crocodiles up from the water to feed them just under the restaurant. The menu is limited which might put some people off but the food was good and service, personal and excellent. All in all well worth a visit.

Lodge during Easter only half or less occupied. Positive reviews made me choose this one. Very disappointing.

Located high in a bend of the river. Very good views! Friendly local staff. Small pool, nicely located, with daybeds in the shade. Approx 45 mins from Tsavo Sala gate.
Real feel of being ‘out there’ (which you are: approx 8 hrs drive from Nairobi)

Tents are very basic: good mosquito nets, rotting floorboards, uncomfortable beds and worst: smelly bedlinen, cushions and towels (not clean??). No bottled water in tents. Tents have spacious terrace with chairs.
Food (so highly talked about in different fora) is mediocre at best: fresh, but very uneventful and sauces appear to come from the jar: had it 3 times in different plates. This is regular cooking at best. Breakfast is old-fashioned Italian: some dry bread and cake and jam. No fruits.
No wines available, beer and water is.

The italian caretaker occupies the daybeds during the afternoon –while other guests have to find another place in the shade- and she grooms het husbands face (squeezes out his pimples) in the swimming pool. Excuse me??

Only the location withheld me from rating 'poor'. Might be worth a day-trip from Malindi, but not the trip from Nairobi. At all.

Situated on the banks of river Galana, just 10 km before entering Tsavo East N/P threw Sala Gate.
The food and the service is excellent, the tents are fair and you might as well spend two nights!!
Katia and Momy are really doing their best in making your stay memorable so I recommend Kiboko Camp to the extream.

Great place at the river, with crocs, hippos, and birds. The stay at the beautiful swimming pool overlooking the river is marvelous. Friendly helpful staff, good food. The new owner/manager is keen to upgrade her beautiful place to top standards, and we think she's up to it... She has some work to do with further improving the standards of the rooms. E.g. the staff had put the mosq nets horribly... The finishing touch!!!

A great tented camp on the banks of the river. Plenty of animal visitors day and night.
Lovely bar to watch the sun go down and to see animals come for a drink or wallow..........
Plenty of space.
Lovely luxury tent with ensuite bathroom. Very comfortable bed.
Good to know the night watchman was keeping an eye.
Wonderful staff who knew their antelope from their gazelle.
4 hrs safari everyday both at dawn and dusk.
We were lucky and saw lions, leopards, giraffes, elephants, hippos, buffalo, all types of deer, birds and crocodiles.
We will be back sometime in the rainy season.
