Hi we received this new year at Flamingo Hill Lodge, was a really nice party. We had a lovely time. The staff is really nice and are always trying to do your stay a really nice experience, the location is good just in the border of Nakuru Park an amazing place. The tents are nice and very clean. Food is really good, the best in our safari.
      We definitely recommend this place.

We only stayed at Flamingo Hill for one night but it was incredible! The rooms were individual tents built on a concrete floor with a fully working bathroom attached (including hot running water) as well as a four poster bed, mosi net and electricity.
We had a buffet lunch on arrival which was better than I had expected (seeing as it was a buffet!) and dinner was a set menu of al a carte dishes which exceeded my expectations. The food was really fresh and tasty and we even managed to wangle seconds from our charming waiter!
Before dinner we went into the main hotel and found a blazing fire surounded by comfy chairs - perfect for a post safari/pre dinner tipple!
After dinner it was raining so we were escorted back to our tent under an umbrella by torch light. We really felt at one with the nature with crickets and other insets humming in the grass outside our tent.
The next morning saw a very early start as we were going on safari and as we left the hotel there were zebras and buffalo just wandering casually outside of the hotel perimeter!
The staff were really friendly and helpful throughout our stay and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has an adventurous side!

Stayed with my wife and three teenage kids. Lovely accommodation and we all enjoyed the dinner and breakfast. When the pool area opens, (sometime during November 2010, I was told) it will be even better. The pool area includes a nice, deep jacuzzi and massage area with great views.

I was very disappointed with this hotel for the following reasons:

      1. The power was out for the majority of the time we stayed at the camp. This was disappointing because we could not charge our camera battery during the day. We were told that they would use the generator at night, which they did, but it didn't last long. I woke up twice in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and our tent was pitch black.

      2. You have to share the hot water with the people in the tent next to you. I was the first one to shower and the hot water did not last long.

      3. You have to purchase all drinks, including water.

      4. I found someone else's hair in the container containing the conditioner. It was disgusting!

      5. The tents are extremely close together and you can hear the people in the surrounding tents.

Flamingo Hill was a very pleasant surprise to arrive to at the end of a long day of safari. The staff was extremely attentive: We were greeted by the staff and manager, offered a fruit cocktail, explained the camp and at night a staff member guides guests to their rooms if needed. We could enjoy a drink by the fireplace at night before dinner.
And we were also given a satisfaction survey at breakfast the day of our departure with a reminder to fill in a review on tripadvisor!
The camp is very luxurious, the tents have beautiful four poster beds, a terrace and a shower and toilets (although just like most tented camps hot water takes a while to arrive).

Food at buffet was very good considering we were in the middle of the African bush!
Not being located directly in the park did not seem to make much difference, since the surroundings are still very wild and zebras, monkeys and gazelles were still grazing nearby or in trees.

Flamingo Hill will be even better when the pool is finished. Amazing stay!
