The animals are quite good, but the water level is so high that much of the road around the lake has flooded. As a result the number of flamingos, while still numerous, are much less than before.

it was really interesting , we started very early by 7 and we left the park by 12 , we spotted the black rhino and the white one , many others animals , specially the flamingos.
but if you want to see something very special, just get there very early and look how the environment will be , so wonderful ....
better get the game drive by a guide because he will know how to make drive well the whole park...
get a good camera also, u need a big zoom because it is not like massai mara where you can near the animals ....
enjoy the park....

Its less attractive comparing to Masai Mara , much smaller in size makes one day drive is enough to circle it .
The unique sights that makes it on top of the Kenyan Safari lists are the beautiful pink flamingos scene that used to be most of the year at the lake .
and the very high chances to spot the White or the black rhinos there.
Also its highly recommended for birdwatching .

Very Disappointing trip which has always been a pleasure . We were not advised of the Flooded park - and makes it very costly for a day - not worth the USD 90 per day at present

We recently had a game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park. The entrance was very busy, there was even a que. There I learned Lake Nakuru is called a prime park, due to its size and being a lake. If you want to cover whole park, a full day trip is needed. We had a half day so we were only able to cover some part of it. Even tough we did not see lion or cheetah, we were able to see impalas, buffalos and rhinos feeding at the lake side together. And there were huge quantity of these animals which was amazing to wittness them all together. We also saw a hippo but unfortunately it was not a fan of visitors with cameras so only saw the ears and eyes:) you can easly see the pelicans which Lake Nakuru is famous with. Entrance fee is slightly higher than Nairobi National Park due to being a prime park. Make sure to bring your Kenyan ID if you have one otherwise you have to pay $90!
