“More than expectation....the lodge was just beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2013

After a long drive from Amboseli when we reached here we were dead tired. But the view of Lake nakuru from the lodge and lunch sitting outside with the lake view was incredible. The buffet spread was awsm. There were Vegetarian and non veg, both the types. We Indians specially love the food with more masala and hot, and the food what we found there was as per our taste. The rooms were small but the cottages looked very beautiful. it was made of wood and the whole property was soo green and serene. The pool view from the coffee shop was too good, specially during dusk. We had a wonderful stay indeed.

We only stayed here one night, but really enjoyed out stay. The accommodations were great. The beds were a little stiff, but overall the rooms were clean & spacious. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The food was good, although i would avoid the fish:-)
Theres a great view of the lake and its central for game drives.
I am leading teams back in the summer and hope to stay here.

This was the first of many lodges in my 16 day East African Safari conducted by Safaris Into Africa with head tour leader Clive Arnold owner of Safaris Into Africa. There are 9 in the group and we are split into what I will call arks .I am to spent 2 nights at Nakuru Lodge.
On the way to this lodge we stopped at a lake paid the driver of an outboard boat $US20.00 and was driven amongst the flamingos What a sight to see these amazing birds up close and personal and then to be underneath them as they flew. Well worth the $US20.00.
We stopped for lunch at Elsamere home of Joy & George Adamson of "Born Free" fame where we were entertained by Colobus monkeys and enjoyed a delicious lunch.
Back on the road again making our way to Nakuru Lodge.
This lodge is well appointed with the restaurant overlooking an open plain where during my visit baboons could be seen. The lodge had on hand a Masai by the name of Jerimiah whose job it is to keep the baboons in check .
Of a night you can sit looking at the pool and beyond this the plains very pleasant.
Again complimentary water is provided in your room and tea/coffee is provided in the restaurant.
I at least had hot running water but the bed was a bit sagging and in need of an update.
The meals where buffet style and adequate and for early morning safaris tea and coffee provided with a pastry.
Of an evening entertainment is provided of which a small donation is requested.
Porters are only to happy to carry your luggage again for a small donation.
Staff are always courteous and pleasant.
The grounds are a thoroughfare for the baboons so be wary when out walking they actually walked straight pass me as they headed for the plains An electric fence was being erected when I was there to stop this which I think is a shame. Armed guards do patrol the grounds of a night and I was never sure if this was for people or animal control.
Do not leave any windows or sliding doors open as the baboons will pay a visit.
Hyrex rule and are seen everywhere.I haven't even started my safari yet !

I stayed here as part of a 5 day safari organized by Silverbird Travel.

the view from my room overlooked the Rift Valley and was simply beautiful. the view from the restaurant is great too, if you sit outside. the lodge is a little dark at night, but otherwise very comfortable for an overnight stay after a game drive.

travel tip: try to make a stop at Lake Naivasha for a boat ride on the lake - it adds a refreshing and interesting dimension to your road safari

We were only there for an evening as part of a safari through Kenya.
It is situated on top of a hill actually within the park. Our room was on the edge of the property and looked right accross to the lake. Really lovely.
The room itself was OK without being "amazing" but all else was good. Food selection was great. Wifi you needed to go to the "business center" and pay (a fair bit) to use, so wasn't too happy about that.
The park is good for rhinos so if thats what you're there for this place ticks the box.
One night will probably do you though.

The hotel staff here were welcoming and friendly. However, the hotel was somewhat dated and in dire need of modernising. It was not particularly clean either. We saw some animals, but unfortunately the flamingos we went to see had migrated. The African music was a super addition to our evening meal!

Lovely room and very good food. The position in the park was great - watching animals as I ate my breakfast. staff were very friendly and the evening performance of traditional african music was a bonus that I really enjoyed.
