This is a review for Camp Lakira, which is also owned by Flamingo Hill tented camp and located right on the banks of Lake Nakuru. Unfortunately, Lakira does not have its own listing (probably because it has no presence online). I visited the camp with my family for 2 nights this past summer and wasn't able to pull up a single review other than those I found on this page, but was game to try something new. It was a simply unbelievable experience. This is a luxury tented camp with only 6 tents, so the service is unsurpassed. We had breakfast and dinner at the camp, and the food was the best we had on the entire safari trip. Bbq meats, lovely salads, very nice chicken dishes, breakfast made to order. Nothing was too much trouble for the guys running this camp, and in the evenings we had fireside stories from the masaii warrior about the traditions and culture of his tribe. In the morning, hippos were to be seen gliding across the water, and the sunset was simply unreal. The tents themselves were better than those we had experienced at Masaii Mara and even Ol Tukai Lodge at Amboseli. Large and quaint, with antique furniture, the place has a real charm about it. Would recommend to anyone who is absolutely looking to get away from the touristy experience and simply immerse themselves in nature.
