“Average campsite with great potential.”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

Stayed here for one night on a rather cold night in Wadi Rum.There were about 4 other guets that night so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. We stayed in a chalet, which was just OK.The food was just average.Did not really see any of the staff members, the place was pretty dead.We really enjoyed our dune buggy ride.Overall, this place has the potential to be really good. The accomodation and food need a little more attention. Also,it would help to have some friendly staff around the place.

The excitement of staying in the desert and staying in a camp with the necessary luxuries were stamped out pretty quick. It's like checking into a Super 8 motel or similar. The checking in was quite smooth. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were tents as well as 'chalet' like rooms. Room was clean but mediocre for a 'luxury desert experience' and needed some TLC. The restaurant a large tent like atmosphere....and the food was pretty much like a barbeque cook out. Breakfast is rather dismal. Climb up the hill behind the restaurant and get a good view from atop. Great photo opportunities for sunset.
We would debate and consider staying here if we do pass this way again.

We stayed here for 1 night. Food was simple but good. The chef specially prepared Indian curry for us.The taste was really good.We enjoyed our stay here.
As per my knowledge this is the only camp in wadirum ,which is arranging for Hot air baloon and microlight jet.But for Hot air balloon ride 185 usd per head u will be charged.
For using the pool u have to pay.

We stayed in one of the cabins and those rooms were a bit like motel rooms. I expected the glamping experience to be better. It was an incredible location but once inside the "camp" it could have been anywhere. It seems to be very popular - be prepared for big tour groups, wild Arabic music and BYO parties in the tents.

It's wadi rum though. Wake up in the morning and climb the hill for a great view of this incredible part of the world.

Beit Ali- Wadi Rum
Certainly not the best desert experience we have had (Namibia and even Taklamaken Desert were much better). The camp is about two hours drive from Petra (yet another road littered with rubbish). We were very disappointed on two fronts: the room with King size bed that we booked and that was confirmed on email- was not available! Instead we had three built-in single beds in a not terribly clean room (there were wrapers from the previous occupants on the floor). Then there was the desert tour! JD45 for a 45 min drive into the desert- where our “guide” left us so that he could go and watch a Bollywood commercial being filmed! (they probably also got our room!)We were very unimpressed!
The seating area done up like Bedouin tents was nice and the dinner was fine- all in all though this was not an experience we would repeat!

Room Tip: The rooms definately looked better than the tents.

Bait Ali comprises of hut bedrooms spread out in a large compound surrounding a large central, circular restaurant. The huts are standard and superior quality. We stayed in superior, and enjoyed large comfortable beds with many blankets to keep out the cold february night air. The ensuite bathrooms were excellent considering the place is isolated out in the desert. The definite high point was the fantastic mezze meals served in front of a blazing fire each evening, a wonderful and wide selection of traditional foods. The price includes evening meal and breakfast. Breakfast includes a guy making chapatis right in front of you. We haggled the price down about 20% on arrival. It is possible to walk straight out of Bait Ali and into pristine desert, or drive 5 minutes to the Wadi Rum reception centre. A "must do" at Bait Ali is to find the steps leading up the small rocky hill from behind the swimming pool, and go up there in time to watch the dawn. That experience, seeing the inceasingly vivid colours behind the distant mountains and eventually the sun rising is a world-class experience.

We had a great time here. Once we checked in, we were treated to some good buffet and beers. The owner and staff were friendly and warm. The room (hut) itself was small/compact with two beds and an attached bath. Very clean and tidy.

The following day, we had the opportunity to go into the desert on quad bikes (available to rent) and explore a bit of the desert and surrounding landscape.

I would definitely recommend it for an experience.

And don't forget to sit outdoor at night and gaze at the stars. Its magical !
