Out of an incredible trip to jordan khaled's camp was my favorite experience. After a spectacular day driving through the awe inspiring Wadi Rum we were welcomed warmly by Khaled and his kind staff to their perfectly placed camp which in the middle of the desert had showers and toilets, it was glamping all the way. But then it got better! We watched the sun go down, ate a wonderful traditionally prepared feast and then slept under stars. Definately one of the top ten places to visit during our time of earth. Thank you Khaled!

Room Tip: Ask to sleep under stars, for a wonderful experience. Take a torch and enjoy.

I can't imagine coming back to Wadi Rum without visiting my new dear friends Khaled and Ali. Their camp was magnificent with all the trimmings. We started off by being met by Khaled himself. We had a nice lunch in the local café with some wine then set off on our adventure. Khaled had booked us a camel then we met Ali by jeep. We climbed hills, saw ruins, scrolls and driving in the desert was such fun. We then relaxed and drank tea while Khaled told us stories of Bedouin tales and customs. We then made our way to the camp and had refreshments while watching the sunset. Khaled has set out a beautiful spot, elevated above the camp to see this and amongst the guests were a couple of regulars. When we asked why they come back to Khaled's camp they replied it is the best spot in the desert and my children know Khaled, they wouldn't want to stay anywhere else! That night we ate a tradition Bedouin meal and listened to Bedouin music then retired to the stars, what a magnificent sight. Clean and comfortable accommodation, I can't wait to return. Thank you for having me.

Been to 7 star hotels, 5 stars, splurged a lot but this place is worth billion stars.

Very very basic tents with steel beds and toilets outside the rooms.

Need a torch to go in night from room to dining area and to toilet.

Took us time to sink into this alien world, but Khaled makes you very comfortable.

The private desert tour in the day was unlike any experience we had, private lunch in shade of a mountain and not a single human being within miles of viewing distance.

Food was basic and you seem to like it because its the only option available. But its the number of stars which just hypnotizes you.

Great breakfast table at a height and beautiful sunrise.

This place has got some soul in it and might not be very fancy like other camps.

You will love your time in Wadi Rum, the only problem will be leaving this beautiful and spiritual place. Khaled will welcome you and guide you into his world, he is very funny, quick witted and his camp is the perfect place to enjoy all the wonders of the Wadi Rum. The food is delicious and tastes like home. Our guide on the safari was Ali, we spent 2 nights and 1 day but felt like we had all known each other for years. This is a place to forget the city, turn off your phone and live like the bedouin. I can't recommend Khaled's Camp enough!

Khaled and his team (our guide was Ali) will do everything they can to let you enjoy your stay in Wadi Rum. They will organize your stay exactly as you want it: hiking, climbing, jeep, camel,... just ask and you will get it!
The camp is very well maintained, clean and well equiped. From this spot you can benefit from Wadi Rum's amazing sunsets, moon light or stars watching. You will feel at home from the first second thanks to a very warm and personal welcome.
You should not miss the unforgettable experience of having lunch in the middle of the desert. Your guide will bring you in a fresh and shaded place, and while being comfortably sat on a a mat, you will see how to make fire and cook delicious fresh bedouin food with nothing around you. You will probably get the feeling to be the king of the world at that precise moment!
Don't try to go else where, you would be disappointed!

Late May is probably getting a little too close to the heat of the summer to really make the most of enjoying life in a Wadi Rum Camp as it was still stiflingly hot when we arrived around 3pm, but the other side of Khaled's Camp was in the shade so we could relax there before the temperatures started to drop.
The camp itself is basic, but it's not pretending to be anything else, but the views from the rock platform just above the camp as you approach sunset are stunning, and the regular supply of tea was most welcome.
Dinner in the main tent with other guests plus Khaled and his team is such a great experience and the night sky - breathtaking.
The tents are basic but comfortable - but take a torch as there is not too much additional light outside.
The temperatures (May) in the morning are not too bad. We enjoyed a great 4x4 trip with a friendly and knowledgeable guide (Mohammed) followed by lunch in the shade of a convenient cave, cooked up by Mohammed. Recommended.

Room Tip: Take a torch, towel and sheets. If self driving to Wadi Rum, but your water (and any other drinks y...

You will find no WiFi, en suite bathroom, nor even a light switch in
your tent, and for anyone in desperate need of a power shower and
fluffy bath robe, this would prove a bad choice. This camp is much
more aligned with ecotourism projects. The accommodation is simple
and all the basic but clean washing facilities are shared. Electricity is
very limited and partly solar-powered. The evening meal is cooked in
a quirky brick oven cleverly buried in the sand (a visual treat when
they open it) before being shared at low tables in a larger tent laid
out with cushions, rugs on the floor and an open fire in the centre.

From a harsh but hauntingly beautiful environment, they have distilled
the best to share with their guests: a series of lingering memories to
take home. The camp nestles in the lee of a dark, red sandstone
outcrop, which protects it and also provides any number of vantage
points towards the setting sun: from the sand dunes, to a natural rock terrace
laid out with a table and a few chairs or quiet, little caves, the
higher you scramble. From the other side of the outcrop the view
is the rising sun. At that side there are a couple of caves large
enough to sleep in, so you can watch the stars then the sun rise from
bed with no light pollution and only the noise of a camel for company.

The people running this camp are smart and knowledgeable; they help
with travel arrangements, treat all their guests as individuals and
tailor make any tour to suit, whether it involves rock climbing, camel
riding admiring the petroglyphs, simply sitting in the sun or
enjoying the night sky. With ingenuity they can light a fire and cook
up a treat in the middle of nowhere, play a little tune at supper or
explain how to navigate by the night sky. They are very hospitable and
if you are planning a trip, I am more than a little envious.

Room Tip: Take a torch.
