As budget travellers we couldn't afford more that one night stay in the desert camp. After taking a great tour with WWR's friends from another company, we were offered an overnight at Eid's house in the village which we very much appreciated. The other option was to sleep outside under the stars but it gets really cold during winter nights in the desert...
It was the New Year's Eve and we were getting ready to go to sleep around 5 pm when Eid's son came to tell us we're invited for a dinner and celebration in their camp in the desert. We set off for an adventurous jeep ride in the darkness to the camp and we spent there a wonderful night in the company of bedouins and other travellers. Everyone from Eid's family tried to make the New Year's Eve special for the tourists, they performed some of the bedouin music and dances for us and we had a great dinner and litres of tasty tea.
Big thanks to Eid's family, we really appreciate your great hospitality. We hope to come back to Jordan someday and meet you again.

Eid was recommended to us by another couple, and we had a really good time on both the four wheel drive trip through the desert and the overnight stay in the camp. It was really easy to organise and Eid and his family were very friendly and welcoming. They were very flexible about doing what we wanted to do, and the locations are amazing.

We just came back from Wadi Rum. Before I was scared of too many companies and travel agencies. We are budget travelers and also try to avoid overcrowded tourist places. We searched inet and found Wild Wadi Rum company. Actually based on prices. Since we came into owners house in Wadi Rum village it was like heaven. All of them treat us like friends. We spent 2 nights in camp, did jeep, camel and hiking. And celebrate New Year. Celebration evening was outstanding. Their camp is really good located, hidden beyond sand dune, calm... Not so many tourist and more hikers than barbies. Their cook is excellent and food delitious. Everything is clean and tent warm as you need in January. Owner and all of his guys are very kind. Thank you WWR.

We, and another couple with whom we were travelling in Jordan, booked with Eid - sight unseen - for a two-day adventure in Wadi Rum - a little over a year ago now. What enthused us about this experience from the start was the fact that Eid responded to email enquiries immediately and all arrangements went smoothly - with clear, concise instructions about where to meet, what to bring, and what to expect. We had a wonderful trip - with Eid and his son Ali as interesting, attentive and knowledgeable hosts/guides. We were made to feel almost part of the family. We have since recommended Eid to friends, who have had the same high-quality, rewarding experience. Many thanks Eid, and we can't wait to come back.

Room Tip: Sleeping out under the stars is fantastic!

If you love authentic, family-friendly, real human contact and an excellent price / quality ratio that is where you should go.
Arrived in the village, I was greeted by a meal in the Eid's house and his family. I did taste their homemade olive oil, the best I have had the opportunity to taste.
Then we joined other tourists with whom contact was very well, visited the desert to end with a cooked meal in the oven buried in the sand, like the Bedouins. We have almost all slept near the fire...

4 of us decided to stay with Wild Wadi Rum as a result of the good reviews we saw online. From the very beginning they were more than accomodating to our requests. We only gave them the time to pick us up the day before we were going, and the day we arrived we were not at the correct location and Salman (our guide) went out of his way to pick us up anyway. The trip started with a great meal cooked for us in the town of Wadi Rum, after which we took camels to the desert campsite. We had the option of how we preferred to travel each day - whether camels, jeep, etc., it was up to us. Our tent and the bathroom facilities were very clean, much better than I was expecting for being in the desert. Each night a feast was cooked for us the traditional way of cooking it in a pit in the ground. They also played music, sang, and danced before, throughout, and after dinner as we talked with other travelers and the guides about anything and everything.

The sites we saw and trekking through the desert was very cool as well - but I don't think theres a need to go into any detail about that as it appears pretty much all of the tours go to the same sites.

Overall great experience and I would highly recommend it.

I was there this last November of 2013, myself, my boyfriend and another couple. I just want to thank Eid and his family one more time for the amazing time we spent with them! We could just stay one night and 2 days due to our short time to visit Jordan, but we promised ourselves we will go back to stay there a few days. They were extremely helpful, great hosts and better people. Apart from driving us everywhere, waiting for our endless photo shoots, preparing one of the best meals we have ever had,... they also shared with us their knowledge, experience, feelings,.. about Jordan and their culture. It was an experience that money can't pay! Apart from this, their camp is very well prepared, perfect even if you are traveling with children. Their main tent, let's say the living room, is well isolated and equipped with a chimney that will keep you warm. The rooms are also well isolated with beds, side table, light, etc... everything you need to feel like at home! Oh and they have spotless toilets with shower as well! I am sure you will not regret if you choose to stay with them in your stay in Wadi Rum!
