“Everything about Wadi Rum Travel Camp is wonderful”
Reviewed October 21, 2013

My boyfriend and I went to Wadi Rum for a day tour and an overnight stay with Wadi Rum Travel Camp. Everything was perfect. We really had a wonderful time and a great experience in the desert! Lovely service, nice and clean place to stay, great location in Wadi Rum for sunset! We wish we could have stayed there longer. It would also be a great experience for kids :) Ali always made sure everyone was happy during the trip! Thank you Ali and his team for your help during our trip :)

We are a family with young kids living in Amman for two years. We have tried many camps in the Wadi Rum. Some of them may have as nice a scenery, some worse, some better, but Ali, the host of this camp always has us coming back to him, either to stay overnight or just to go around the desert in his jeep if we can't stay with him. He is extremely generous, sweet and SO friendly with our kids, he has became their best bedouin friend! He will really get out of his way to arrange you with what you and will show up with surprises : the last one was a sand board and we all got to ride it on the sand dune! The camp is better than others we have tried, it is opened with an amazing view and the sunset. It is a camp in the desert, so you do get the real experience : little water, little electricity, often very nice company with other travelers, typical homemade food, nice fire and a lot of bedouin whiskey (tea)!
We highly recommend Ali and his camp.

we visited 10/11 10/12 in wadi-rum.
and the weather in day is not too hot in night is not too cold. very good to feel wadi-rum
we rode jeep car, and moved many places
especially i remembered riding a board on the desert, it was really exciting.
it was hard to climb desert with a heavy board, but our guide Ali helepd us.
he was so nice and kind.
second, the place of the flim 'Lawrence Of Arabia'
this is a good place to take pictures.
Ali took many pictures for us.
third, sunset of desert was very beautiful.
we sit on the stones, and ate snacks, watching sunset.
i will never forget this scenery.
after watching sunset, we went to camp
toilet was very good
the water pressure was so strong that we could take a shower easily, and hot water was enough.
i touched this because the water pressure in amman is very weak.
forth, dinner was very delicious. the food was cooked in the desert for one hour and half.
after dinner, we smoked sisha and talked each other with ail
it was very great time, because ali joked very well
we laughed without stopping very very fun.
sixth, we lied on the mattress, watching millions on millions of stars and shooting stars.
but the moon was so strong so bright, we couldnt see milky way.
the next day morning we had breakfast and then we rode on the camels
the day of weather is not hot, so we appreciated scenery leisurely
we finished our visiting delightedly.
we really thanks for our guide ali. he is so careful and kind. we didnt feel uncomfortable,
and he speaks english very welllll!!!!!!!
i want to go to the wadi rum again, through ali.
i really enjoyed it

We visited in Wadi-Rum towards the end of September, a good time as it`s not too hot. We booked with Ali before hand (friend`s recommendation) and he looked after us extremely well, starting with a cup of tea! The jeep ride is a great way to see the desert and our driver Ziad showed us all the highlights, a bbq for our lunch in the shade and a rest before carrying on. The camp is nice because it has just a few tents and so you feel that you are having a more authentic experience. The tents are cozy and clean, you will sleep amazingly!! The location is good you can see the sunset from a small hill in front of the camp and have a great view from there for miles. We enjoyed the meal in the evening, having the food cooked underground gave the meat and vegetables a gorgeous taste.

Ali and his cousins are all very kind and want to make sure you have all you need. Our second night we slept in a cave behind the camp (after a moonlit camel ride! courtesy of Ali`s friend! Abdul) It was a lovely experience to see the moon rise and the desert lit up by the moon light. It is also a good location for sunrise!! We hiked a little from the camp and found many interesting sites, being so far from "civilization" is a great way to relax! We finished off our stay with a camel ride back to the village where we had breakfast made by Ali`s mother and sisters. We really felt like we had made good friends and had an experience of a life time, in such a wonderful place. So book now!!!

My girlfriend and I went to Jordan in September. Visiting Wadi Rum was high on our to-do list and eventually we choose the Wadi Rum Travel Camp to facilitate this. This turned out to be a very good decision!

We started out with the jeep tour, led by our friendly guide Faraj, took a picnic lunch in the desert (must be the best picnic spot ever) and ended our tour at the camp site where we were warmly welcomed by Faraj's brother Ali. Near the camp we enjoyed the sunset over the desert, had a delightful traditional Bedouin dinner (cooked in the sand) and had a comfortable night in one of the camp's tents. Given the conditions of being in the desert, the camp was well equiped (clean sheets on the beds, lavatory and even showers).

After a good night sleep we headed back to Rum Village by a two hour Camel-trip led by Ali's younger brother. This was a great occasion to experience the overwhelming scenery of the desert.

All in all, you get great value for money! The camp has enough comfort and has a great location. As it is quite small (we were four in total that night), you never get the feeling of being one of the tourist bunch, wich greatly adds to the authenticity. If you are ever in Jordan, don't miss out on visiting Wadi Rum via Wadi Rum travel camp! For sure, it will be an unforgettable experience.

We happened to Ali's camp by chance, but realized that it was a good luck. The place is magic, the camp is very clean, the food is tasty and Ali and his brothers made us feel as a part of the bedouin family. We spent a fabulous night out around the fire under hundreds of shooting stars, drunk local tea with sage.. Un incredible experience! Camel tour is unforgettable, as it is watching the sunset and the sunrise. The place is very safe. Highly recommendable!
