These geological formations are really interesting to see and fun to explore. You can see everything in a few minutes if you really want but most people spend time admiring the caves and the tangible carving power of the waves crashing up at the walls of the caves. Also there's a free video you can watch explaining some of the history of the place. Really beautiful and unusual place. A visit is highly recommended.

Prior to our assualt on Acre,we drove along the northern coastline from Haifa, through beautiful agricultural tracts,to Rosh Hanikra, the northern most point of the western coast of Israel,on the border with Lebanon. The limestone grottos are accessible by cablecar. The pounding surf below and the intensity of the blue sea against the limestone white rocks is breathtaking. Down in the grotto is Arch Cave & Keshet where you can view a film on the railroad built by the British and New Zealand engineers in 1948 linking Egypt, Palestine, Syria & lebanon. The idea was to link it up to Europe through turkey. It ended here in Rosh Hanikra, unfortunately. It would have been a supreme undertaking. This section evokes the early years of Israel..When you emerge into the sunlight, you take in the massive communication equipment that is up on the escarpment which is the border with Lebanon. This is classic easedropping territory. Out on the azure waters is a permanant navy cruiser on patrol. It makes you think how safe it is here, as it is everywhere,in israel

i went here with my wife family after many years in which ive heard i "have to go" here....
well i can tell you i didn't find this place interesting at all...
there is a short movie about 10 minuets and then a walk in the cave about 10 minutes more
, the caves had nothing special about them ...

i really don't understand what is the big fuss on this place,
In opinion you can skip this attraction all together.

This is a geologic formation in Israel, just on the border with Lebanon. It is located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, in the Western Galilee where the mountain meets the Sea. From the top you take a short cable car ride down the white chalk cliff and the cliff opens up into spectacular grottos formed over the centuries by the wave action of the Sea. In the grottos you see crystal clear blue waters at every turn. Back on top there is a spectacular view of the Israeli coast line all the way down to Acre. It's a great day trip from Tel Aviv where you can also take in a visit to Acre.
