It is a thriller and nice historical site.
You can be familiar with the ancient Zoroastrian tradition. Zoroastrians believed in the sacredness of earth, fire and water and In old years their dead bodies were not buried in the ground to prevent ground contamination. They had put dead bodies in this place (known as the Tower of Silence or cellar) to be broken up by birds

It is a very interesting experience to visit a silence tower. There are very few a tourist can go. Don't miss it. Although is very simple the environment is mystical.

In my opinion it is the first place that I recommend to visit.
It is amazing place and a funeral and burial place for Zoroastrians.
According to a tradition custom, bodies were placed on the towers. The relative were not allowed to climb the hill and must stay at the foot of the hill.
if you have problem in yor feet I don’t recommend you to go there. You have to climb hill and in some how it is difficalt for old people.best time for going there is before the noon.

this was a fabulous site on the outskirts of the city. Very atmospheric with the ruined buildings at the base & the slow climb up to the bare open spaces at the top.

As we entered Yazd, the first thing I noticed was the two Towers of Silence on top of two hills dominating the area. One of the towers was bigger than the other. On reaching the place we got done and took some pictures. I did not want to climb the hill to reach the bigger tower. There are several buildings on the grounds that were used by the relatives of the deceased during the disposal of the body.
It was evening and I did not like this place of death. The place brings a feeling of sadness although the towers have not been used since 1960s. Nowadays the Zoroastrians are buried in a special burial ground.
