Having been driven here (through 3 hours of hellish traffic via Denpasar) I was taken for a 2 hour trek thorough some gorgeous rainforest and then for a paddle in a local outrigger canoe to see some terrific vistas of lakeside Hindu temples. A terrific experience, but to be honest not worth 3 hours each way stuck in a car watching the insane dodgems of locals on scooters and in cars weaving within inches of each other or stuck in traffic jams.
This is next to mount batur, kintamani. There is nothing to see but if you are going to kintamani you will see whether you like it or not. If you going to ubed and kintamani you will automatically see it. If you can avoid it is a sheer waste of time and money
Its nice to visit the mountain, we can do it by a distance or if you like to climb it as well.
As long as the sky is clear, the view is magnificent.
Lots of restaurants, but I go to Eko bike coffee shop.
Very good coffees and cookies.
There is also some hotspring pool that we can visit as well.
Adjacent to the Gunung Batur is the Danau Batur. The Lake Batur is a crater lake, located along the Ring of Fire of volcanic activity. The lake is a striking color, no matter what time of the day you see it at.
We visited the Danau Batur at sunset. The mist was settling in slowly, making the Lake Batur look surreal.
What a great moment in the morning with the calm lake and the sunrise view. There's also a tour package to visit Trunyan.
