I went to this restaurant on a Public Holiday Galungan March 2013, the lake, mountain and the view is amazing,we ordered some food from the menu and take a seat, one of our friends ordered straight to the counter when we got advice from other guests who had first arrived there, other visitors were advised us to immediately come to the counter and ordered our meals because waiter and waitress was very busy and did not come to our table.

after ordering approximately 30 minutes rain is coming, we move to a roofed area, because we moved table, one of my friends came to the cashiers desk and inform them that we moved the table, how ever the cashier ignored and said it would serve us soon .. after sitting and waiting for 1, 5 hours our food and drink still not serve, when we call the waitress always say wait a bit and one of them even asked what is the person name when we was ordered our food? This really really bad service.

With the popularity of the of this restaurant at least our expectation is the restaurant will give a good service too..how ever..it is really make our holiday failed and we were very disappointed.

we sat and waited up to 2 hours in the rain situation and our table was wet and none of the staff willing to serve us and this is not acceptable.

This ended up being a very bad experience for us, , really really need training for the staff.

I went to this hotel and restaurant as a solo traveller and photographer. This place is amazing. They have floating restaurant in the lake and the view was.. so divine. The mountain is just in front of you, they weather is cool and fishermen on boats with pedals are around. No noise pollution like motorbikes and loud music were heard.

If you into nature this is the place to be. However the hotel was probably average, with on-and-off hot water and old TV. If you are used to x-stars hotel, this is not your place. If you are looking back into nature, fresh fish and want to get away from civilization, this is your place. For photo hobbyist, this is top spot. Go at dawn to nearest harbor to capture people's activities with mountain background.

This hotel is also known as the Batur Lakeside huts which are listed twice on trip advisor. My other review for Batur Lakeside gives more details on how bad this hotel is, so please have a look. You are advised to go somewhere else as the mangers behind this hotel are not interested in people but in money.

Was recommended to check this place out by our hotel in Ubud (Komaneka) as a really nice alternative to the usual tourist traps around Kintamani.

The little hotel and the restaurant on the lake are simply charming. The prices are totally fair and the quality of the house special (grilled fish) is faultless. The fried tofu on the other hand was unimpressive. With a little steamed rice and we were good.

My girlfriend both ate the same thing except I tried all three sambals- she tasted two....and within one hour I was racked with cramps every 10mins.....until finally we called a doctor later that evening. Not a fun moment and I am almost certain it was one of the sambals.

The reason that I write 'average' for this place and don't destroy it is because every Balinese I have talked to at our hotel since I got sick knows it (the doctor included) and everyone agrees it's a good place (and I am sucker for supporting eateries that locals go to). Having been sick in other parts of the world (like the US or Switzerland) I think it would be unfair to just trash what is a charming local joint- on that experience alone.

Right place wrong time....
