I stayed in this hotel for one night, room was small but good enough. The hotel is facing the crowded beach with several street seafood. The staff need more training for customer service, they refused to provide second key card for the room with two persons.

Romeliess Hotel reminds me of those days in Nha Trang when you could grab a great Ocean View hotel for $20. Deluxe Double or Twin Room with Sea View has a close view of the action on the street below, and about 30m beyond that is the ocean. The photos don't show you how close the beach feels to the room. For Vietnam, the road is very quiet. Its 10.20pm, and the stall vendors are still over the road selling fresh seafood. Everybody is smiling in Vung Tau, and its probably such a relief for visitors from Saigon to get to the beach.

My sheets are spotless, bed is medium hard, but not too hard. Bathroom is not tired. It's not the Hilton, but the hotel is not old, so its not falling apart. (Not yet)

The girls at reception have limited English, but enough to answer some basic questions. Remember its not rudeness for Vietnamese to turn away, just shyness about language.

Just a hint. There are two beach clubs about 15 mins walk away. One is 200,000VND (Has infinite pool) and one is 80,000 VND.

I preferred to pay extra to use these facilities, than pay an extra $50 per night for an international hotel with a pool. Also, the prices were cheap for beer (USD$1-2) and you could walk onto the beach.

Room Tip: Deluxe Double or Twin Room with Sea View would be the minimum.

I wanted to post a review after having read a number of reviews that gave many comments on the quality of the beach. This is a review of the hotel, the beach is neither part of the hotel's premises nor part of the hotel's responsibility for upkeep; besides this, it must be noted most beaches close to large conurbations, particularly in developing countries tend to be sub-standard; so this should come as no major surprise. Vung Tau could never be for its industry or proximity to Saigon a Nha Trang or a Phu Quoc.

One of the things I liked about the hotel was the fact the sea and waves were visible from my window. As someone who has grown up on the coast, it was a pleasure to travel to Vung Tau from HCM just to see the seaside. The hotel is clean and the staff are helpful and professional. I would say the only issue I had with the room was that the window pane was a little loose in the window; as a consequence, during the strong winds it tended to rattle quite noisily. After pointing this out to housekeeping the matter was corrected immediately and the noise was muted.

One minor drawback is the breakfast which seems to cater only for Vietnamese taste. I would have liked to have seen a little more appetizing breakfast options on this front. However, the breakfast room itself does come with an entrancing view of the sea - one redeemable respite

Overall, for its location, I think the hotel makes a very affordable location. While it is not smacking distance from the bus station (who would want to be in that part of town) it is a short bike ride from the meandering coastline further on to the immediate south. There are a number of pleasant restaurants nearby, mostly serving fish and seafood options, as would be expected for a coastal resort.

An average hotel, not overly clean. However it is adequate for one night. We ask about dinner and found out the restaurant was closed however they gave a great recommendation at Lan Rung which was a 10 minute walk around the point.

The hotel is set directly across from the beach. It is clean bright and welcoming. The reception is well presented and the staff are most pleasant in their welcome. There is a lift to all floors. The room we stayed in was on the front overlooking the sea. Nice sized with full width full length windows, one of which opened for additional ventilation. Because it was overlooking the beach of course the road noise levels were higher than you would get in the back but as we found the spectacle of taxis, mopeds, scooters, buses, coaches, street vendors and holiday makers exciting and interesting we had no issues. Some may find a city view more to their liking. This may be more relevant at week ends when the beach road and promenade is alive with an energy and vibrancy I have seldom seen elsewhere.
The hotel offers a good breakfast which is very multi national ranging from Asian to European. The bedrooms are clean and comfortable and well serviced. Beds changed daily. Mini bar restocked as and when.
Overall exceptional quality for monies paid. Highly recommend to all.

Room Tip: If you want a quieter room go for a city view.
