Really enjoyed our time at Le Lodge in Ninh Binh City. It is closer to all the main attractions than Tam Coc, where most of the backpackers stay, and we felt it gave us a more authentic experience. The food in the hotel’s courtyard restaurant was superb and owner Jessie was happy enough to recommend some other great restaurants in town, including a dessert bar with some amazing durian ice cream. Yummo!

Nice enough hotel, friendly staff. But it’s a working city and not geared for tourists.
If you want to visit the water boates/caves then stay in Tam Coc. It’s a little touristy, but there’s bars and restaurants to spend your evenings in.
Tam Coc better place for meeting other tourists

This was me and my friends first trip to Vietnam and we were a little bit nervous. We booked Le Lodge based on its good reviews and were very happy when the manager Jessie reached out to us immediately with offers to help. She and her colleague Helen were not only like sisters to us during our stay in Ninh Binh, but also helped us book accommodation in Hanoi and a tour of Halong Bay. We cannot wait for you two to visit us in KL so we can show you the same warmth and hospitality you showed us.

Room tip: Romm 304 was great

Spent many years travelling in Vietnam and this hotel is another winner. A great courtyard area with an really good restaurant and great prices takes it to another level.

My top pick: stir-fried eggplant; wife's top pick: lettuce rolls.

For a craft beer aficionado like me the bar had a great variety of Vietnam's finest and what seems burgeoning craft brewery scene. One of the owners Greg is so affable and always up for a chat so be sure to sit down and shoot the breeze! Just don't mention his beloved Wests Tigers and their latest salary cap shenanigans! Touchy subject!

Room tip: Craft Beer heaven!

We spent five nights at Lê Lodge, and thoroughly enjoyed the calm and quiet of the place. The room was spotless, the food always well prepared and the staff absolutely delightful and efficient. Jessie, the manager, is a miracle of a lady, capable of solving pretty much any problem that might arise when you’re travelling in a foreign country and have limited (understatement) knowledge of the language. We were very sad to leave...
