I stayed here to join the meeting for 6 nights in Deluxe room.
About the hotel ;
Like ; Big room, Big bathroom, Speed wifi, good location, helpful staffs (some of them may not influent in EN but they always provide you any help), breakfast is ok but it would be more better if they can provide more various menu.
Dislike ; hard bed and....it seems smoking is allowed in the hotel.

We selected this hotel due to its ranking - don't be fooled by it.

The location is central which the only good point as well as the lobby it resemble a top-end boutique hotel...again don't be fooled by it.

The staffs hardly speak English and rude. The bed was very uncomfortable; it was as hard as a rock, a/c very noisy, bedding spoiled and damaged.

Breakfast is unhygienic and very poor, the staff assisting you in the restaurant are not engage with the operation at all.

I do not recommend this hotel.

Enjoyed two nights at Monaco Hotel. The room was clean and nicely appointed, the staff attentive and professional and the breakfast was excellent (I had the pho). The location is also a big plus. The hotel is on a nicer part of the fairly busy Pho Dien Bien Phu. One night there was a bia hoi (fresh beer) street "bar" a block away, with excellent no preservative beer (if you have never had bia hoi it is a daily made draft beer, very tasty and extremely cheap). There are very good street restaurants in Haiphong and there are very good coffee cafes around the corner from the hotel for Vietnamese cafe dua sua coffee (drip coffee with condensed milk and ice). The hotel is also walking distance to the pier for boats to Cat Ba. The central square in Haiphong with the flower market is also nice. The Chinese influenced temple (more of a walk but fun) is also worth a visit. Haiphong itself is also an interesting and clean city with many tree arbored streets. Further down Pho Dien Bien Phu at night away from the hotel and down in building numbers is grimier and "edgier" (and not in a good way) with massage hotels, etc. Excellent free museum across the street from hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back away from the street. Sample the street restaurants (look for the busy ones) for amazing food and look for bia hoi (there will be casks of beer and the ubiquitous plethora of low plastic chairs) (bia hoi is 20 to 25 cents a mug).

This hotel was OK, the reception area suggests if a grand hotel. The rooms are OK, nothing to write home about but I would say a bag of rocks is more comfortable to sleep on than their beds. Worst nights sleep I have ever had, so I wouldn't recommend it from this point of view.

It was clean and the staff were helpful though. There was also good wifi.

We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed a very comfortable stay. The rooms are excellent value - clean, nice bathroom, spacious enough. The simple breakfast included was a nice bonus. Staff are very friendly and pleasant (service was also not intrusive). The location is excellent - we were catching the hydrofoil to Cat Ba, which was a 10min walk away. Restaurants and access to Haiphong's laid-back cafe culture all within a short walk from the hotel. The wifi worked 100% of the time and the hotel is quiet - not much noise from the street or from fellow guests. If in Haiphong, I would definitely recommend...
