“Super friendly staff, good locatio,. good price, spotless.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 17, 2013

I stayed at Kim long for 2 nights in a standard double room.
The room was very nice with aircon, tv, good shower. everything you need.
It was spotlessly clean. The only drawback is that i did not have a window. so not much natural light other than a tiny ventilation window. There was little table and chair outside my room to relax in the fresh air.
Good location about 3 mins was from the river front.
The best thing about this hotel is the people.
Trung the owner is so friendly and helpful. I was traveling alone for the first time so he organised me a tour with other people and even invited me out in the evening. i did not end up taking him up on his offer because i was very tired from lots of traveling but i thought it was very sweet of him.
The receptionist, and the rest of the staff are also lovely. So friendly and so nice.
I booked a tour with them $15 for a 6-7hr tour. I thought that might be a bit long on a boat as i don't do many tours but it was really really good.
It was just me and one guy in a little boat with driver and guide. My guide was "u" a lovely girl who i enjoyed just chatting with.
The floating markets were very nice and i really enjoyed just cruising round the maze of rivers, hardly seeing another tourist just enjoying the scenery and going for a walk through i tiny village. these are the kind of things you cannot do without a guide.
We stopped at a lovely homestay for lunch with a beautiful garden where we relaxed for an hour or so. Somehow me and the guy on the tour ended up paying for our guides lunch and a drink i didn't order which left me feeling a little bitter because the tour already was not that cheap and i had very little money. but i tried to forget about it because the guide was so nice and i had had a lovely day.
I would definitely recommend both this hotel and it's tours. Just be careful when you have lunch if the waitress asked if the guide can eat with you.

The only reason this review is not excellent is because of the lack of window in my room but the staff definitely make up for they are amazing.

Room Tip: If you can pay a bit more for a window i am sure it is worth it.

Free stable WiFi, clean, walking distance to street food and restaurant, staff super friendly, helpful and speak good English.

We stayed in usd15 agoda promo room for the first night but moved to another room with window the second night, if you are uncomfortable with rooms with no window which is not shown or mentioned, paying a bit more for a nicer room is recommended.

Gony spa, cafe, restaurant is just opposite this hotel, serves reasonably price local and western food. Hop pho which is 10 min walk away serves good western coffee.

Room Tip: Get a room with window.

I can only mirror what's been said before, fantastic little hotel right in the heart of Can Tho. We turned up with friends who had booked and didn't have a reservation, no problem, got a room for $15 and had air con, fast wifi, a fridge and cable TV, quite the luxuries after arriving from Cambodia! The staff were amazing and always wanted to chat and the place was spotlessly clean, highly recommended!

The staff absolutely make this hotel, particularly Trung who helped us so much. On arrival they sorted our visit to the floating markets and provided an excellent guide called Tyny. Even breakfast was waiting for us at 5.30 am before we went out plus they called us to make sure we were up. They also sorted our onward travel at no cost. The room was a good size and air con etc worked well. Shower was a little drippy but there was plenty of hot water. In a great location by the river front and very quiet at night. 100% recommend!

We stayed at Kim Long Hotel for one night in March and had a great stay. Despite us booking the wrong hotel the manager found us a room straight away and was warm and welcoming. The room was spotlessly clean and modern with a fridge, TV and excellent Wifi. We booked a floating market tour with the hotel and our guide Minh picked us up at 5.30am. From start to finish this was one of the best things we've done on our travels so far. The market was fascinating and our guide kept revealing nice surprises for us including a pineapple he had carved, flowers and sea creatures made from reeds. Minh was awesome! The manager was extrememly helpful throughout our stay, booking our onward travel, recommending restaurants and even taking me to a Banh Mi stand to help me buy a roast pork baguette. As we pulled away the manager and his wife waved us off. Brilliant stay and we would definitely stay here again.

This small hotel had only been open a very short time when we stayed. The owner was very helpful and friendly. We had a room overlooking the front, and everything was clean and tidy However, it lacked a safe. It was a fairly quiet road which was a plus. The owner kindly arranged our onward bus travel to HCMC for us.

When we visited, the hotel did not do breakfast however, it was early days for them and things might well have changed since. Nevertheless, there were plenty of cafes and restaurants close by doing breakfast, so no big deal. (Notably, in most of the cheaper hotels we stayed in during our trip to Vietnam, breakfast was very basic anyway.)
There were plenty of good bars and restaurants around the corner on the river front, within a very short walk from the hotel.

On a negative note, we arranged a boat trip through the hotel but the boat driver turned out to be a dishonest piece of work who took us on a tour which resulted in us being charged for 'extras' (it got very unpleasant at one point). We had booked through the hotel as we thought this would be safer than doing it direct at the harbour! We complained to the hotel afterwards, and they made the boat drivers wife reimburse us for the 'tip' her husband had taken (the cost of the trip was 360 VND but the driver failed to give us our change from 400 VND - this was on top of other scams so we were still out of pocket). I would like to hope that the hotel no longer uses these people, or at least had a strong word with them. It left us with a sour taste.

Apart from the bad boat trip we had a very pleasant stay and would stay here again if in Can Tho.

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the front which was quiet enough as the hotel is not on a main road and tr...

Probably the cheapest hotel we have ever stayed in so we were a little nervous but we had a really clean family room with aircon, the private bathroom wasn't ensuite but really didn't cause any issues. The location is perfect. The owner/ manager who was very friendly and helpful arranged our trip to the floating market which was good value and excellent (our guide Nhu was so lovely, knowledgable and our kids loved her!).

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
An intimate, 2-star boutique hotel, Kim Long provides excellent service and overlooks Can Tho river and Ninh Kieu Quay. You can enjoy Vietnamese warmth and hospitality at its most charming.Established in December, 2012, the hotel itself is only a few months old so it’s spotless and has a modern design in rooms at a very reasonable price. Each room is different, but all are spotlessly clean, new furnishing with fast internet, an air-conditioning, a great fan on the ceiling, AC, a telephone and a fridge. Bathroom is clean with solar hot water heating and cold water from outlet. Owner and staff are unfailingly friendly, and helpful which makes your stay a real pleasure. Hotel also has a nice rooftop in which you can view the river and take pictures. On-site parking place is free. With Gony, spa, cafe, restaurant being just opposite hotel, serving reasonably price local and western food, Chinese and Vietnamese Temple, and Ho Chi Minh statue close by, the hotel is perfect for shopping, sightseeing and entertainment. Location wise you can’t beat this place. More importantly, it is right in the heart of Ninh Kieu harbor and a local ferry terminal. The river is 50 feet away and all the night action are also right there. The day and night markets where the groceries and fresh food stalls are also a minute walk from the hotel. Hop pho which is 10 min walk away serves good western coffee. It was a fairly quiet road which was another plus for hotel.Exploring Can Tho is easy with scooter rental, bike rental, boat rental and bus ticket services available. Noticeably, Kim Long is only a 20 minutes drive away from the new Can Tho Airport, which links the Vietnamese capital, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city to the Mekong delta region and 10 minutes drive away from the bus station of Can Tho city, which makes it possible for you to move from place to other places easily. ... more   less
