Victoria Can Tho Resort

My partner and i just had the pleasure of staying at the Victoria Can Tho resort, and we were very sad to leave. The resort itself was just beautiful and the staff were lovely and always very polite and helpful. The food at the restaurant was great for breakfast as well as lunch and dinner. I would definitely recommend spending at least one evening dining at the resort.

The rooms were lovely and the bed comfy. Daily fruit deliveries were a nice touch, as was the turn down service.

The day spa was very nice as well and the therapists are well trained and provide a wonderful service, they are very polite and attentive.

The Mekong Delta cruise to the floating markets was the highlight of our trip. We had breakfast aboard the resort's own boat, which was stunning. Then went on a smaller boat to visit the floating markets and a noodle factory and orchard.

The resort has a free shuttle to Can Tho centre which was very convenient. The boat is easy to recognise coming back too (this is actually very handy when there are boats everywhere) as it is the nicest boat docking in the area.

Overall a wonderful stay, I would definitely go back. We are staying at the Victoria Hoi An hotel shortly and if it is anywhere near as good as this one i'm sure we are going to love it!

We only stayed at this hotel for one night which wasn't enough. On arrival we were given a welcome head and shoulder massage and upgraded to a Suite, which was really lovely. Hugh double bed with separate sitting area - hugh bathoom with double sinks, bath and separate shower cubicle - the biggest bath towels which was a welcome change. We had two balconies which opened up over the river - a lovely was to watch the sunrise.

The breakfast was ample, with plenty of choice of hot and cold foods. The Lady Hau, a boat which is a bar, was a lovely way to sit and have a drink - we went early as it was 'happy hour'. The boat to Can Tho centre only takes a few minutes and we a nice way to travel.

We didn't have time to use the pool or other amenities but looked really nice with plenty of beds around it.

It is a shame we only had one night at this hotel - we will visit again in the future, but will have to stay 2-3 nights at the least.

Room Tip: The suite was a welcome upgrade and I am sure it would be well worth the extra. Fabulous view.

The service is outstanding. We received refreshments and chair massages right in the lobby while checking in. The pool is beautiful and warm. the location off of the river is perfect and boats pick you up from the hotel to the floating markets. Restaurant is very good and we loved the breakfast buffet. The rooms were clean, but were a bit dated. The spa and massages were very good and are provided in tents. Definitely recommended.

This was a well welcomed reprieve following the long drive from Saigon. We stayed at the Victoria Hoi An so was aware of the quality of their properties. Check in was easy and included a complimentary shoulder massage. Our room on the 2nd floor was very nice - but beware there were only stairs available to get to the room. The pool was relaxing and not overly crowded. There is free river boat transportation to/from the downtown area, which was underwhelming in hindsight.

Room Tip: If you don't like stairs, request a room on the first floor.

We stayed in a Deluxe room for two nights. Our room was fairly small but clean and quaintly appointed. The lobby area had a couple of interesting demonstrations by women making local crafts such as textile weaving and hat making. Our king size bed was as hard as a rock which was good for my back but not necessarily that comfortable. The shower had a weak stream of water which gained complaints from the husband. The hotel faces onto the river and there is a paved riverside walk for those romantic evening strolls. The gym was tiny with very old equipment and I had to wait sometime past its documented opening time before someone came to open it for me. The breakfast was fairly standard.

A truly delightful hotel in a lovely setting that proved an ideal base to explore Can Tho and the amazing floating market It was a delight to be able to sit on the verandah and enjoy the warm night air but slightly less so the karaoke singer from a neighbouring bar who really should stick to his day job!! The charming hotel staff were profusely apologetic but thank heavens it stopped at 830!! In a bizarre way it was just another of many Vietnam experiences!! Wholeheartedly recommend the restaurant - after 10 days of Vietnamese food we wimped out and went "western" but both agreed it was an excellent meal and for me one of the best steaks ever Sadly time did not allow us to enjoy the beautiful grounds and pool area so plan your itinerary to allow some down time if you can

A lovely colonial atmosphere accompaning the nice rooms, the good food and the excellent staff attitude. We had a stroll in the evening along the Mekong river and than relax on the beautiful bar/restaurant terrace overlooking the garden (if you ask me is much much better having your meal/drinks on the terrace than indoor). ... And the aromated coffee was fabulous!
