Stayed here for two nights. Great location but a bit crappy rooms, nothing serious though. Staff was nice. We booked a trip through the mekong delta here, we will not recommend it however. The tour was fine but a bit more expensive then elsewhere and the guide was worthless.

I stayed here for two nights in august 2011. They charged me 200,000 Vnd or $10 per night. It is definitely worth that. The rooms have air con, tv, hot water, western toilet. The building is secure but is a little run down. The paint in my room is faded and it is not spotlessly clean but the rooms were made up daily and the bed hard but comfortable. For $10 I think it is great. The staff are friendly and I too booked an amazing Mekong tour through ms ut. It was more expensive than others quoted but we had a private boat, pilot, guide with great English (thank you miss thuy) and went into small canals the big tourist boats had no chance of getting into. But back to the hotel.. Overall a bit dated but amazing value for money. Similar hotels in HCMC are $30 and over. Actually it reminds me a bit of bich duyen.

I had room 103 facing the river! A family run Hotel. Every one is involved. Great room, very clean, aircon, nice bed. Best river trip in town. Everyone was very helpfull! Felt very safe. This is the only hotel that I would stay in Can Tho. Price was great! Don't miss out. The best place to stay!

Basic, reasonably clean rooms and organised a good tour through hotel. But unfortunately room 118 had bedbugs and I was very badly bitten. Realise it can happen anywhere but a warning to anyone who plans on staying here!

This hotel was a basic hotel in a good area of Can Tho, the hot water shower worked and the bed was quite comfortable. However, I wanted to write this review for 2 reasons. The first, that they booked a day on the river for us which turned out to be a far superior trip than almost any other traveler we met booked. This trip turned out to be one of the absolute highlights of the 5 weeks we spent in Vietnam. The second reason is that these people showed themselves to be incredibly generous and helpful. We forgot our passports at their hotel and discovered this 7 hours away in Ho Chi Minh city. They sent our passports on a bus overnight entirely at their own expense. We were so grateful that they did this for us and made it so easy. If they are reading this, Thank You.

I stayed here for 5 nights because I was able to get one of the front rooms with a view of the river from the shared balcony. This may be the best location in Can Tho because it also looks over the park with the statue of Ho Chi Minh where the good folk of the city gather each night to relax - they also go there at sunrise to exercise. Being able to observe all this from the balcony is the major draw of the Tay Ho.

Unfortuanately that is where the good points end. I must agree with the previous reviewer about the cleanliness of the rooms. Cleaners do not look up or under anything. There are cobwebs throughout the room and bathroom, dust on chairs and tops and if you move something you will likely see 2 years of accumulated dirt.

Apparently this hotel was renovated in 2005 but the bed and furniture appear to be much older than this. The hotel is owned by the Can Tho Tourist company who should take more care in ensuring that standards are maintained.

The reception staff are friendly enough and I was even offered a discount when I went to enquire about a room, without having to ask for one.

The location is noisy being on a busy road close to the river but I was aware of this and so do not mark down the hotel because of this. Although the room was poor I would consider staying here again just because it is so nice to be able to sit outside and take in the view. This is the only budget option hotel in Can Tho where this is possible.

This hotel has a great location right by the river, with a nice shared balcony overlooking the water, but that's all that's going for it. Our room was large but looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. The bathroom had mold and spiders in the corners. The whole room was crawling with ants!
Our first night there was disasterous and I didn't sleep at all. The window in our room looked out into the hallway and the light was left on so light streamed into our room all night. The rooms aren't very sound proof and there were very loud guests downstairs yelling and banging doors through all hours of the night. The hotel staff didn't do anything about it and we were too scared to try to do anything about it.
The staff were pleasant but not friendly. A woman associated with the hotel wanted to take us on a boat trip but she asked for more than double the going rate if you arrange your own boat trip by the river, which is easy enough to do.
There don't seem to be many good budget options in Can Tho, but I'd definitely try someplace else.
