“They spoke English”
Reviewed July 27, 2012

Language was a problem while traveling.which made communication not easy enough but in Malika they speak english.
The main disadvantage is that they do't provide meals (except breakfast).
Water was hot, internet was available for free

Stayed for 3 nights with group opf friends. Best English speaking staff we've come across in Uzbekistan, very willing to assist. Bang in the centre, yet well hidden and quiet. Rooms immaculately clean. Wifi in lounge only. HW/AC working, but bottled water not supplied in rooms. Breakfast better than average for this class of hotel, quite varied from day-to-day, but not 'international' style.

Room Tip: would not choose the front of the building, too much through traffic.

We only stayed here for one night as the result of a problem at the hotel where we had booked. The location is ideal, in the centre of the historical area. Our room was very small but reasonably convenient. It was clean, quiet, the air-con worked, the television worked, the fridge worked. The bathroom was okay with a shower over a bathtub and hot water. The room was entered from an enclosed courtyard with seating that was quite attractive.

I did not like Malika Bukhara at all.
No hot water.
No Internet at all.
It was cold despite the air conditioning.
The water was brown!
Bad service in the restaurant: i have been put outside the restaurant room even if I booked for it!
I would not suggest my friends to go there again.
Restructuring work in progress around the hotel.

Room Tip: non so

Nice location where you want to be. Aircon worked fine. Beds a little hard and rooms spartan. Breakfast acceptable. Considering where you are it fills the bill, but do not expect first world luxury or service.

The Malika is located where the historical center begins. You just have to step out of the door and can discover the most interesting sites or go on a shopping tour. Several bazaars, restaurants and chaikhana are close. Just around the corner is the place surrounding the Lyab-i-Hauz where you can sit among Bukharans having their dinner or tea next to the pool. Enjoy the atmosphere there - it's fascinating!
The hotel itself is nice and clean although I wouldn't recommend a room going to the courtyard. During the hot summer there is virtually no exchange of air which makes it a littel stuffy inside the rooms. The breakfast room is decorated with nice ancient Asian / Chinese paintings. Very refreshing during the warm summer evenings is the terrace on the roof with a great view where you can have dinner.
