We got a late morning start leaving the Montevideo area (normal in South America) getting the rental car heading towards La Paloma – we decided to take the coastal route through Piriapolis. It was foggy, cool and a bit of rain. When we pulled over and came in to La Langosta a fire was going in the heater in the front glassed window area. The tables were nicely set with white tablecloths, and wine glasses all ready. We guessed we were in for a nice lunch and we were right! The wait staff were very efficient, friendly and eager to describe anything on the menu. The local fish (Corvina?) was prepared many ways for you to choose from and we chose the one in olive oil and paprika with mashed potatoes as a side dish since it was cold outside. A nice white wine to go along with it and we were set. We noticed quite a few patrons were ordering the meat but since we had just had a grass fed loin the day before at the Puerto – we opted for fish by the seaside.
Cozy, nicely set table and service to go with a well prepared meal.
