“Nice hotel. That's all.”

It's a nice hotel. Simple room but clean. Breakfast is fair for the price and swimming pool is really inviting. Nevertheless, the town really sucks...so I would recommend a nice hotel with its own restaurant near the historical park.

We stayed for two nights on a trip to see old Sukhothai. We reserved online, and the staff confirmed quickly and offered us free transfers to and from the bus station. During our stay they also provided free transfers to Sukhothai city centre. When we arrived they provided cold delicious roselle drinks while we checked in, which was very easy and fast.
The common areas are very charming, a collection of three old teak buildings with lots of plants and endless collections of antiques scattered around a very picturesque central pool. They have three house bunnies, which make for great pictures in front of all the buddhas and pots! One of the staff saw me trying to coax a bunny over, and brought greens so I could feed him, which was very sweet. Our room faced the pool on the main floor, it was not as impressive as the common areas, but was very clean and very quiet. We ate dinner at the restaurant one night (exhausted after a day at the ruins) and found it excellent. The only complaint about the breakfast was that the coffee was instant, but otherwise it was a decent selection of standard eggs/fruit/yogurt/cereal.
The hotel is a bit of a walk from 'downtown' (restaurants and the pickup for old Sukhothai buses) but is very convenient to the bus station, if that's how you arrive. It is an excellent value for a mid-priced Thai hotel. I would recommend it to anyone heading to Sukhothai to see the amazing ruins.

Decent location in New Sukhothai. Restaurant had great food. Staff very helpful. Unlike other reviewers, we found the breakfast to be fresh (lots of fresh fruit as well as eggs and fried rice...juice). Good value for midrange hotel. Would stay here again.

Full of character and as mentioned in other reviews many antiques. I spoke with the owner and so far has taken 15 years to renovate this set of buildings. Eventually I'm sure it will be great. Good points, restaurant, air con or al fresco. Bar has good selection restaurant good selection too. Rooms are adequate even though the water is definitely a strange colour. Wifi is free and I had no problem whilst there, aircon and tv reception fine. You can rest quite nicely by the pool with massage beds close by as are local shops.

Room Tip: No real life after 6 pm, but that is Sukhothai as well. One of the better places to eat though. Park...

The Ruean Thai was the highlight of our time in Sukhothai. This character hotel is the dream and creation of its very interesting owner, Varachai. The hotel, situated around a stunning outdoor swimming pool is full of antiques and old teak wood. For anyone interested in a delightful architectural and historical look at Thailand, this hotel is full of both. The staff are exceptionally competent and friendly. Set out of the old city, this hotel is quiet and restful, and a short bus ride into the old city and the ruins. The food is excellent. The old style wooden shudders and doors in each room are beautiful and like I have never seen in a hotel before. Highly recommended and take time to chat with the staff and owner. J Gilbert, Canada

The hotel emailed us to confirm our booking and to tell us we could call them when we arrived at Sukhothai bus station and they would pick us up free of charge. The hotel is constructed in the traditional style with lots of teak wood and is very pretty with huge airy verandas overlooking a central pool. The staff were wonderful and extremely helpful, providing information and tips to get the best out of our stay in Sukhothai. They offer local transfer services to visit Sukhothai Historical Park and day trips to other areas as well as free transfers to and from the bus station. The rooms are quaint and the bathrooms offer large shower areas and tabletop sinks. Every day they put 2 bottles of water in the fridge in the rooms and the beds have mosquito nets if required, although rooms also have aircon and we saw few if any mosquitos during our stay. Breakfast offers eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, cereals and toast as well as Thai food. The restaurant menu is extensive and serves both Thai and international food at a very reasonable cost. The food was excellent. The hotel is about 12km from Sukhothai Historical Park but it is easy to get to by public transport or via the hotel. There is a swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers, but during our stay there it was looking a bit green. We would stay there again.

The room & place was standard level. I was quite impressed with the service. The friendly receptionist gave us detailed information with photo & map about the interesting place to visit. We went to places which she recommended = good experiences. At the restaurant, they warmed food that we bought from the outside for us. We ordered for the food that was not in the menu..The waitress said "Let us try" then she brought us what we wanted. They offered me free transportation from hotel to bus station. I will be stay there again if I go to Sukothai.
