We stayed in a fan room, shared bathroom with a fantastic view over the lake. It had a balcony which made up for the dark room.
The shared bathroom is clean, but with squat toilets.
You can tell the attitude of the owner is to get more money from their guests at any opportunity- 30thb for a towel, 20thb laundry per item, 10thb to call a taxi, is just a few examples of their desperate attempt to make a few more baht.

The restaurant is overpriced and the quality of food and service could be better. Take a short walk to the bakery for your breakfast, tasty, good value, and for a great cause.

Overall the room was good value at 250thb, but dissapointed with the lack of small touches that make up a great guesthouse.

stay in their fan room for one nite. it was cheap, 250 baht for a big bed, a private balcony with lake view, free wifi. the weather in Sangkhlaburi was not hot so a fan room is enough for me. they does nt provide towel and toilet roll for u so remember to bring one. Their urinal bowl was broken when i stay there, it makes the male toilet extremely smelly. Location was OK, u can take a short cut to Mon Village, but it was far from the bus terminal, nearly 1.7KM. You can always hired a motor taxi to travel between the guest house and the bus terminal for 30 baht.
The staff does not smile all the time.

I have stayed here twice before. The guesthouse is more like a small lodge. Actually very nice and very reasonable in price for rooms. The more expensive restaurant makes up for the difference! Rooms are down in the garden are small and have shared bathrooms outside. Guesthouse has its own access to the lake and a swim is a good idea on a hot day. In the summer it can be very hot. Stayed in a fan room; next time I will try an a/c room in the lodge proper. Friendly staff. Quiet.

I have lived in Kanchanaburi for nearly the last ten years and travel often to Sangklaburi. I have normally stayed at the Burmese Inn but as it steadily declines and yet the prices rise it is no longer worth the quiet to stay there. I have re-tried P guest house once a year for the last eight years wondering if they will ever change their nickle and dime practices, and so stayed there again last weekend. It is as it has been. Beautiful setting with spotless rooms and grounds. Lousy over priced food and drink. Arrogant and disrespectful staff who for so long have thought of themselves as the only game in town are no openly rude. Tourists coming may not see but if when you lived here, and can speak Thai they're behavior is totally unacceptable. Sangklaburi is growing, getting more popular and some one will show up and open a place that runs right and the old timers there will get a lesson. Until then stay at P but eat at the market, drink at the small shops and bring your own towel.

What a dissapointment, gorgeous views but the staff is extremely unfriendly and even after upgrading to the 950 Baht rooms it was still a dissapointment! The toilet paper ran out after the first day, nobody bothered to come and check the rooms. Food was tasteless and very slow in coming out of the kitchen. I definitely do not recommend this place. We stayed in 5 star hotel before this trip for the same rate per room off season.
