We read Tripadvisor reviews about Similan Island, and we find out on google for booking. We meet Jc.Tour Website, and we booked pass them. The price is just 2,900 Baht + Transfer In to Kho-Lak Beach Resort our hotel in Khoa Lak.
They pick up from the hotel at 08:00 AM to Tublamu Pier (Near Khoa-Lak) And then start to run by Speed Boat as the Catamaran style.
Many people on the boat, but the tour guide service very good, Mr. Booby. He can show the magic for every guest and make us joking all the time for 1.3 Hours of speed boat running. Similan Island is very nice for snorkeling, They stop us for 3 Places snorkeling, all of them is amazing, but on the last please is too many tourist.
However, we can say that similan Island is the place if you like to see a lot of fises and coral reef. We very recommend.

Depending on which Company your a re going with the Similans are one of the Highlights when visiting Khao Lak or South Thailand. Getting very busy with day tourists during main season you can skip the busy beach hours by just staying overnight in a tent or bungalow (bring some good local mosqito protection!)

i've been here many times and my all time favorite snorkeling spot is if you leave the beach from Island 4 on honeymoon beach to the right. You can go out long time and should try to spot rock formations and will find moray eels, ocotpuss, puffer fish, nemo's, barracudas, small tunas. It takes more than an hour to discover this area and watch out your strentgh cause you still will have to go back to shore.

We went on a 3 day 3 night snorkeling trip with Andaman Discovery Snorkelling and avoided the crowds as we were at the various places before the day trippers arrived. The Similans are beautiful but so full of people there are almost more snorkelers than fish when the speed boats arrived. Please look after this jewel before it is too late.

Thank rainy

We made a day-trip by speedboat to the northest island of the Similan, Koh Tachai. The boat trip took 1,5 hours from Khao Lak. The trip was organized by Seastar Andaman and it was fantastic. All went nice and smoothly, the guides were very professional and helpful. We had a barbecue meal on the island and two 45 min snorkeling sessions. Water was clear and there were plenty of colourful fishes. We had a guided walking trip to the jungle as well. We saw chicken crabs and some birds and beautiful butterflies. Koh Tachai has very nice white coral beach and there are not so much tourists as on the southern islands. As a matter of fact it is surprisingly quiet place.

The daytrip was all inclusive and cost 3000 baht. All you need is sunglasses, swimsuit, sunscreen, camera and suitable clothes for warm weather.
